@Schouiffy: My parents are on the look out now, for a pair of Basenjis needing a home.. Preferably young adults (so if any of you are in the know, send me a email!) but I saw this guy on Petfinder, http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/16733745 Is that not the cutest face ever!!??? And if anybody wants to help the above little dog let me know. He is at risk in an overcrowded shelter. They asked BRAT to take him, BRAT doesn't really take in mixes. @sharronhurlbut: In case you all don't know, Joanne does a great job for all dogs, being the basenji mix rep. She is an angel on this earth. I can only help the dogs I do because there is a great network of Basenji people out there willing to help. I hope I can find someone who can help on this one, I don't usually have to ask Basenji people outside of BRAT but this is proving to be a tough one. I am trying to transport a little Basenji mix from Birch Tree, MO, where he was saved from being gassed, to his foster home in Wichita, KS. The person who pulled him from the shelter will drive him towards Springfield, and his foster mom will head east from Wichita. I am hoping to find someone around Springfield, MO who might consider transporting this dog part way to Wichita, Parsons maybe? I don't have a set date but I'd like to move him soon. He is about a year old, healthy, a little timid, good with other dogs. If you could possibly help this little dog I'd love to hear from you, please e-mail giza1@wildroseinternet.ca I have a picture of him but I haven't figured out how to get it up here. No doubt! I'm sure some people think I'm nuts with the amount of baby gates I have. Counter surfing Ridgebacks & Foster B… gate @ the kitchen Sighthounds in general .. gate @ the front door and while Kira was around, gate to my sewing area because it can get darned expensive to replace that stuff! :D

Hi Roxanne, if you are still looking for a basenji, you may want to go to www.basenjirescue.org- a great group of volunteers who rescue and place basenjis. :)

I really hope this will lead to more controlls… Fortunatly I have never used the vet's in question.

That is my hope too, that she at some point will realise that she needs help, and then maby someone can help her. It feels a bit useless to save the basenjis when she just went out and got some new dogs - but for the dogs we got away from her, it probably made the difference between a life in neglect and a good life, so then it was worth it.

That's very nice; i have not read it before. Of course Zest the superstar in training would argue that she's always starving, but that's beside the point
