BRAT has a great support system, we have a great one here. So let us know if you have any issues you need help with. We all want this to work…

My understanding is that this dog might be a mix. Also there are some skin issues that are at issue. So, will let you know more when I find out. BUT from what I heard, this dog can't be placed at this time.

Only the red girl on the lower left, and Wheat are African. The other 2 are Lisa's show dogs. I have to tell you, I am selfish, I hope Wheat is just a village basenji, and she can stay with me fixed. Re BCOA and breeding her. If BCOA approves her, then it won't be my decision to breed. I will just have physical control of Wheat. The folks who brought her back, all BCOA members, long time breeders with knowledge of structure, temperment and health, will decide if and when and to whom she will be bred, if ever. I don't have the knowlege to be a breeder. Also, I know that if she does have a litter and something happens I will be compelled to take back the pup. Its just more knowlege than I have and more responsibility than I want. I just fell in love with this cute girl… We will see what the future brings for her. THANK you So much Lisa for posting her for me. Hugs to you all.

Here's what I know: 2 bites to one foster mom. The first was over chicken, trying to take it away from him. The second was over going into the crate. I have not seen any aggression over the crate unless you're forcing him in, he goes in great with a little treat, and now we don't even have to do that. He sleeps in the crate and goes in there when he's not supervised or we're not home. I think she needed stitches for both, but she's older and disabled.

Am I wrong, or are all the shelters in 1st-6th place shelters for all animals and not just particular breeds? It's quite impressive that BRAT is up there with them, in my opinion! I've been voting and encouraging friends to vote - the more, the merrier!

@dcmclcm4: She has been adopted but if she gets returned for some reason, a rescue group in Indianapolis will take her. She did eat a microphone or something similar from a desk at the shelter! Well, that answers the Q about if she is PB :p

She is so pretty, and obviously smart to find a snug place to give birth. Those pups looked darling! Thank you for taking care of her.

Our postal service spend a lot of $$ on new stamps, because they know some folks will collect them and never use the, just put them in books. But this does help the animals..so, please, when you need new stamps, ask for these.

As far as I know the girl is still with that family. Its just the puppies they "littered" that are at risk. I really do try to be nice to everyone, but sometimes you just have to be blunt. Hugs to you all. I am so very lucky to have folks who support rescue by caring for their pups.

Thanks Sharron. I'm passing this on to my friends that have fostered outside our breed.
