@KiroGurl: Ninabeana….. what contest are you speaking of? I hate to compete but id love to do one to for kiro and we live in maryland too!!!! It's through a local radio station. What part of MD do you live in?

Routine is definitely the way to go with mine anyway. Even on weekends EL D gets up about the same time, then wants his breakfast before he goes back to sleep :) When I leave the house I always give EL D a treat-filled kong toy and once in awhile (on work days only) I will toss a few kibbles around the house for him to find. It keeps him occupied and he actually looks forward to my leaving :o because he knows he'll get treats.

Mick woofed for the first time last week. We had our front door open and he heard our neighbors outside talking. He stood up on the edge of the sofa and let out a grumble then 3 distinct WOOFS. :D We were like "what the heck was that?" Then we laughed our heads off. It was so cute. I wish he would do it again.

I'll second that.. being 5 ft myself, having a bunch of ppl who are sig. taller stand all about you can be very abrasive.

Ft. Funston is amazing! Some years back I visited a friend in San Francisco and we took her Husky there several times…doggie heaven! Worth a long drive to go there once in a while! Anne in Tampa, with a few good dogparks, but nothing is like Ft. Funston!

Jayden and Cory have pretty tight curls and Jayden can wear his on the right sie or left side. Sometimes Jayden's tail looks like a cinnabon lying on top of his butt. When they are relaxed, their tails go fairly straight. The last little crook in the tip of the tail is the only part that never straightens. Pat

Andrew thanks you all for the support (this is Carrie). The unfortunate side effect is, I would rather my dogs and I avoid the park until this blows over… I don't know what this guy OR his dog look like. I always keep visual contact with my dogs, but they are often out of reach. I would hate to have this guy take out his frustration on Booger & me not be able to get to him in time. And if a guy is willing to do this to his dog, what's to stop him from hitting a woman? When I heard this story on the phone in the airport, I was shaking. I just can't believe the nerve. We've had run ins with horrible dogs at the park before, and we pick up our dog & hold him out of harm's way & yell until the other owner restrains their dog. And I am shocked Booger DIDN'T bite the guy honestly (and happy too). Booger DOES NOT like strangers touching him. He will tolerate it, but usually will grumble about it. However, kicking him & throwing him.... I'm amazed he didn't have much of a reaction at all. And very pleased because Lord knows Booger would be blamed & probably euthanized for protecting himself.

When Phoenix got into a fight a few mths back with his brother My vet prescribed the same thing and it made Phoenix sleepy it's the pain killers i believe that do it cuz when he was done with them he was back to his ole self again . i wouldnt worry too much maybe just the excitment from the vet the fight and the meds. He's not throwing up right ? But i would say it's the pain meds that are making him lethargic.. I hope he feels better soon !!!!

@PhocoenaGirl: Jazzysmom, your Keoki looks exactly like my guy. I think Beegin (and Keoki too) look thicker and broader than some of the other b's I've seen on this site. I don't know what that is called in breeder terms. Is there some kind of scale that you measure for that??? Not that your b's don't look super cute though regardless of height. I love the pic where Keoki is getting measured and Jazz is trying to squeeze in behind and get attention too:D That is just body type (thicker and/or broader)… there is no measurement for that... some B's are just heavier boned then others... that is why it is difficult to just go by lbs for weight.... For looking at a dog for proper weight, you should be able to see a "waist" which is from the end of the ribcage to the beginning of the hip... You should be able to easier feel your dogs ribs and when running you should be able to see a slight the rib outline... @abby_basenji: Yeah I thought I was doing good with the countless number of eyeglasses and cell phones and my husbands teeth that Abby has eaten, but I don't think anything beats the Dil*o, that is by far a classic! Wow Beegin has gotten 2 pairs of my glasses and a cell phone too! What gene is this in the b line and how can we get rid of it! Admittedly though, he has not chosen to chew on anyone's toys but his own.
