I just wanted to share this all with you…My Roxie a 3 1/2 year old red/white female is such a nurse..this morning I woke up with a fever and all she wanted to do is lick my face.....she normally never does this, so I think she may have been trying to help me feel better or lower my fever. lol. Basenji's rule!

I've been using a car seat in mine but she will not settle in it at all, she will perch, stand inside, stand outside (even though she's anchored to it) and do every other combination aside from sit or lie down nicely. I've been through 3 different seats and they've all had the same effect. When she was smaller I got one which was like a box which was raised and that was probably the most successful one but she grew too big for it quickly.

I can't listen to that, it would wake my girl up and well... I'm not into a "sing along" just now. 😉

I will say that many canines howl and yodel and bay (at the moon, whenever a fire truck passes, etc.). I'm not certain that any one breed is distinctive enough to have a sound all their own, but many a proud owner would probably assert so.

We use ones from Rukka. Not sure if they’re available everywhere but they are they best ones we have tried (others always fell off, especially in deep snow). I think having two Velcro closures on each sock has been key. I also prefer the soft shell ones as our B seems to accept them more and they don’t twist as much as the ones with a hard sole.

This was her Saturday night while I was assembling some furniture, she was fast asleep!
She's cuddly but was literally under me, it was unusual but now I know why.

@Kembe 1 hardly any podengo dna on file and honestly the guess your breed tests are just that. Phot in field looks more podengo Close up basenji. Enjoy your dog. Fyi I raised basenjis since 1982 and Podengo grande since 2007

Hmmm… seems like we need a 23andMe solution for our pups. How bout we call it K9andme. I can remember most of my pups markings and have 100s of pics to refer to. That said they do change pretty fast. Our pup D’Otto was a split head with a nice dot right in white. It started as a dot and it’s still there! But it’s a bit more of an oval these days.
