Boy dogs and "pee aim"

  • HAHHAHHA. sorry Renaultf1 but that was some beautiful imagery. =) thanks for the smile

  • @renaultf1:

The only part that is somewhat gross to me is when Ruby sticks her head under his legs and drinks while he's peeing…I could do without that happening. Usually I can get her out of there, but sometimes she is too quick.

Oh thank goodness I am not alone. it's random, but Zaire will decide that she needs to stick her head right under Charlie when he is lifting his leg.. So gross. She does it less and less though as we have moved into the house and now if I see her doing it she gets cleaned off with the garden hose. :D

  • EL D sometimes starts walking away while still peeing - and of course wets his legs then (they can be so gross sometimes).

The other day we met up with a new dog on the block and after the usual butt sniffing, the other dog (pomeranian) started licking EL D's p****. Double gross.

Whoa that is something else. I know that Zip sometimes licks him under there but not while he's peeing. With Riley the pee smell when he hasn't cleaned up is unmistakeable. They both got baths yesterday and on our walk his white was so white it was very easy to see where it turned…yellow. Guuuuuh....really?

Glad to offer that up in the morning :D. Brando has tried to do the same thing with Ruby, but I'm more careful with her because if he sticks her nose near her, she gets stage fright and stops…and then it takes another serious walk to get her to finish peeing.

Jozie does that with Logan too sometimes. I know it can't hurt her but I still think it's gross. She doesn't do it with Baron though. Logan is in the early stages of kidney failure so maybe that has something to do with it?

  • Jayden doesn't lift his leg to pee and he doesn't squat like Cory. He looks like he is posed on the table for the judges examination. And he gets a sort of nonchalant look on his face and looks around. I expect to hear him whistling.

  • Ty does the semi-squat pee as well. Katie always makes sure 'he's clean' before he comes in the house. We call it the Basenji….....well, you know.

Katie cleans herself into a frenzy sometimes. Licking, licking, licking. Back legs both thumping. One time, my daughter (in a tizzy because of visiting college students) blurted out "JEEZ MOM, Kate's masturbating in the dining room!!!"

I never thought of it like that!! Now I can't get it out of my head:eek:

ROTFL, I would have told her this…"you'd be doing it too if you could!!" LOLOL

Back-at-ya Eski…...Why does a dog lick his balls? Because he can.!!:D

    Thanks for the laugh!!

If the dogs are having similar symptoms as in the previous years, they need to be treated ASAP! It is my understanding that many are developing the acquired Fanconi Syndrome and need to be put on the protocol. Many vets though do not have the equipment to do the venous blood gas test and get an accurate diagnosis. Emergency vets should have the equipment. Do not buy any dog treats that come from China and if the package does not state where it is from then do not buy it! Jennifer

The owls are very pretty and I also like the white one. We have a hawk after my birds outside that I would love to stuff never happen but I yell at him all the time. Rita Jean

Great job Crystal and Cody:). Macpac says it all when it was stated "Kudos to you for teaching him to love and be happy. " We sometimes forget that the baby-step advances with an in home raised puppy (as difficult as that is at times) is really nothing compared to the difficulties and patience needed when an older dog, abused, neglected, or just plain unwanted/emotionally devoid Basenji is adopted in a home. Baby steps for others, can be a GIANT grand canyon type leap for a rescue/rehome and their family. Congratulations for jumping the Grand Canyon:D

She-Ra helps clean off the Peanut Butter knife (held so she won't cut herself (even though it's a butter knife I've heard stories)) when I'm done with it. Gonna have to try the mashed potato beater this Thanksgiving (it's her first…she's seen this big bird in the fridge but can't quite figure out what to do about it! :) ).

I used to say my dog was aggressive until I read this thread… Now I say it is more of a defensive mechanism for Buddi. Buddi doesn't like anyone or anything to approach him. He wants to smell and get to know them or it first. If someone new comes into the house I tell them not to acknowledge Buddi at first and then once he has finished getting to know them he will walk away. After that he is fine. But if someone walks in and puts their hand towards him he instantly turns into a very loud and shows aggressive behavior like he is going to attack. The theory has worked very well to date. With dogs it is a little different. He also doesnt like small dogs. The ones close to his size or larger we have never had a problem. Should I handle the situations in a different manner? Also he doesnt go to a doggie spa or day care so we make sure to go to the park and keep him socialized with dogs there and ones that he knows. We also have friends with young kids and he loves them. Has never growled or snipped at them. He LOVES to play!!!!
