a name that goes with moonlight… follow my crazy thought process here... dancin' in the moonlight... van morrison... and it's st. patrick's day... van morrison's irish... so how about morris?!? such a little old man name, but i love it. and you could sing van morrison songs to him all the time!

@SeattleMax: Hold two of the legs with each hand and wedge the third leg into your shoulder. It can make a big difference. Hey, I have one of those. Didn't think to use it that way though. Such a simple but useful tip!

@YodelDogs: The whole point of having a crate in the puppy pen is so they are used to being in a crate when they sleep. They apparently didn't get the memo about that. ;) LOL Robyn… however that said, all mine have always found the "top" of the crates as a place of preference....

Thanks all! Maya tried to scale the pen but its very wobbly and with the naughty pugs jumping at it she kept falling off :D We did get to Crufts yesterday, we were sat around the ring most of the morning but left early to get home to take over from our puppy sitter :)

I'm so glad he's settling in so well with Malaika. Can you be persuaded to change your mind about visiting NBS?

I'm so sorry to hear of the tragedy. Like Pat, I too am surprised that Maya didn't produce milk for her - I know so many instances of that - even when natural mum is ok. My own Jewel reared her daughter's litter from day 3 - although they are now 7 they still adore her and like mnothing better than curling up with and on top, of her!!

i call it her meditation position. and i've taught her the difference between the commands 'sit' and 'meditate.' how funny that other basenjis do this.

The tunnel used to be a favourite of my Basenjis. One even stopped in the middle and curled round and stayed!! I'd love to see pictures. The old ones are rather special aren't they? My oldie, Jewel, never chews non-dog items either and I often call her 'Angel' but actually she's far from that - unless she's sleeping, like now!

I thought this was about getting one, lol. We do have a great thread on why people got into the breed: http://www.basenjiforums.com/showthread.php?t=10739
