    Anubis's MommyA
Yeah im going to look into DNA for Fanconi for sure. Im hoping she doesn't have it. We're guessing thats why she gave her to me. Because she raised her wrong and didn't train her or work with her. So she gave her to me since I have a 4yr old Basenji who is very well behaved. Anubis will walk around her and ridge a bit but not snap. She growls when he sniffs her but so far I have not seen any signs of a want to fight which is good. Thanks for the article Debra!!!

She has a black saddle. You can see her saddle better in these pix. [image: attachment_p_159493_0_pict0016.jpg] [image: attachment_p_159493_1_dsc00089.jpg]

Hi there! I have to post a picture of Kai (Pharoah's brother) soon. It is so funny, as clear and white as Pharoah's white parts are, Kai is completely spotty with ticking and mottling. His stomach is predominately dark spots. It is actually pretty cute - my daughter says he looks like ranch dressing. His sister, Willow, is the opposite - clear, clear white with no freckles at all. The female that the breeder kept is spotty like Kai. I guess you never know how it is going to turn out, since when we got them, there was no freckling at all (although Kai did have a little ticking). Kai and Pharaoh do look alike, besides the spots - they all held on to those wrinkles really well. How much does he weigh now? Kai is a beefy 23 pounds (that was 3 weeks ago). Willow was only 17.2 at the same weigh-in. The breeder was a little surprised by how big Kai is, but he isn't overweight. Her female is still small like Willow. She said she really strives for gender differentiation and she certainly has achieved it - not only do they look completely male and female, Kai carries himself much more like a "hound dawg" than I would expect from a basenji - he tends to sit in a slumpy fashion and flop down when he lays down. Willow is the opposite - completely fastidious and dainty. We are in Santa Fe, NM at the moment, and Kai is covered in pi?on sap and dust and having a ball eating live cicadas. Willow is pristine. How is everything else going? I love these puppies. They are asleep right now with my daughters. When my girls get up in the early morning, the dogs jump in bed with my husband and me. I wake them up at 11:00 pm for a potty break and they sigh and trudge along unwillingly, desperate to get back to their girls. I'll try to get a picture of Kai (and Willow) up soon so you can see Pharoah's brother and sister….

The rescue girl who would get out of the invisible fence and had a high prey drive also had a thing for a bull. She was lure coursing near Ft. Worth TX and the field was near where the cattle was fenced in at. She went crazy and wanted to go after this huge steer/bull through the fence. I believe it was a TX Longhorn. One kick from him and she would have been history! Jennifer

yes, why is it that the bigger dogs make such good friends with the B? Maybe the little ones get the 'prey drive' in gear???? PS: to post a pix, go the reply advanced, then if you have pictures already up loaded from your computer, you click on the little square, then simply drag it (them) to the lower rectangle area below, and click 'done'. hope this helps…. @Kipawa: Alfie is one darn good looking dude at just 5 months! I like your comments about "swaggers round like he owns the joint" and "I don't think I could handle two Alfies". We've decided to stick with just one basenji and give him all our love, and it sounds like you are doing. Do you plan on showing him or doing any agility or luring with him? Yea, be happy you have one Basenji… Enjoy!!!

I do not think we will need that gear here, I am sure Finland was much colder. We will use this though (custom made by his Finnish mom) [image: attachment_p_158361_0_qjacket.jpg]

Very fitting…the truth hurts, but they don't seem to let it stop them from tellin you "how it really is"! With basenjis, respect is ONE way and we aren't on the receiving end...lol

Wonderful pix! Oakley is a very charming boy. You can tell he's a lover of life and must be loads of fun to have around! LOL– Spencer used to do that paw up and laser stare thing when he was younger and had something locked in sight. Luckily, I usually had him on leash, because B Rule #1: Basenji want, Basenji get. :)
