In our house, Sable, our Shiba Inu is the time keeper. When she thinks it is time to go out she comes to me, sits directly in front of me and barks, not stopping until I ask if she wants to go out whereupon she dashes to the back door and leads the B's on the mad dash up the hill. LOL, when Sable says it is time to go out everybody goes out, no arguements.

More lovely pictures! You've got plenty of forest too. I look forward to seeing your plans especially to your own design.

@Kipawa: When watching the first video, it seemed that Loki would only go as deep as he still could have his feet on the ground. But on the second video, it does look like he is swimming with the black dog. :) He likes to stay where he can still touch the bottom, but will swim out farther sometimes if a dog he is playing with goes deeper. We also live on a small lake and though he's gone in the dog park lake without reservation for months, he's always acted like a typical B with our lake, even when chasing the ducks out of the yard. Until today. My father-in-law and husband were tossing in bread and Loki's old kibble for the ducks and fish and wouldn't ya know it? In Loki goes, chasing ducks and eating the bread and kibble! And he went out farther than he's ever gone in the dog park lake, actually swimming out, but of course the ducks were faster ;)

Love the pictures Kim! Everyone looks like they are having a great time. :) Boy do you keep a spotless boat - if you want to do more cleaning, there is a particular home in Canada that needs a bit of work!

It is not crazy at all!!! What is more beautifull to see and keep our beloved friend close to us? We can remember their great time with us.. We called our ship and company after my very first own dog Spranky… So are we crazy too? :D

I agree with the others that although he seems to have Basenji in him - his head is def. not Basenji. As for the leg I'd have it amputated if it troubles him - He'll cope with 3 legs I'm sure, but certainly consult a specialist first. Please keep us updated.

@YodelDogs: Podengos are extremely rare in the USA so finding a mix of one would not be very likely. ok, so my shade of grey is just probably unlikely, but not totally out of the question. I just added the link so that you can see the similarity…..So it is an American mix, maybe or maybe not Basenji- who cares, it is a dog in need, got adopted by a great heart and is a cutie! Good Luck Cheystok with Zeus!

It's cute! Was it hand done from scratch or done with a computer program? There are so many photoshop types of programs out there that can make a picture look like drawn art. I've seen pictures of different themes, and the style is similar to this pic of Jake. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it, but I would hope that an artist would be honest and disclose all of the method(s) they use.

I agree, I see cattle dog/heeler in there. I really don't see basenji but I really like the picture with that happy, goofy smile…looks like a happy boy to me! Of it helps, I reached my conclusion based on the thickness of the ears (regardless of the fact that they stand), the coat type is thicker and has feathering at the back end which you can see on the "zane2" picture...the muzzle is thicker and bolder than a basenjis which tend to be more refined. Lastly, the body type seems thicker and stockier than the lean that is a basenji. All my opinion but I figure rather than just saying yes or no maybe you'd get more out of knowing the "whys" behind my answer
