i think i got a pic of what you're talking about. my boy Zumi does this all the time with my other two dogs. he will stand over them, sometimes with hackles raised and posturing, or sometimes he just stands there over them, doing nothing at all. It doesn't seem to bother the other dogs, so i don't bother either. the dog he is standing over is only 6 months, but he is a highly aggressive dog, he doesn't seem to care that Zumi stands like this. You are very right to be concerned. We lost a beagle 3 weeks ago and only just discovered over the weekend that it was a bufo frog. (after reading an article on Friday about them) I found and destroyed one in my backyard. [image: attachment_p_117131_0_bufo_marinus_usgs_compare.jpg]

Our boys don't touch human food at home, when I put my dinner at the couch next to Buana or chaufuko they won't look up… :D Also when we aren't in the room they won't steal food from the table (thank god because they should be really fat already thanks to the cats and Ryan) When it's on the floor, they will steal it :D

I have come to the conclusion that all Basenji people are just a bit crazy, we brag on thier "badness", we are "proud" of the destuctive things they do, "mine ate a chair" I can beat that mine at the couch - TWICE, mine ate thru a wall, or mine destroyed the inside of my Lexus! But we are addicted to them, can't live without one or more in the house and underfoot. do you think they have a pill that can cure our nutiness over our Bs? Wouldn't take it if they did.

@renaultf1: lol - what is the craziest thing you have bought for your dog? A purse. Lol Hahaha… Well I got this dog food/toys/stuff catalog in the mail. They have nail polish for dogs, in about 5000 different colors and shades, and those little glittery stickers that you put over the nail polish. Purse is nothing!

She has done some testing. Do you know the parents of the dog you are thinking about getting? I know she has had some litters that were sired by PJ's Kenset Back To The Future, http://www.offa.org/display.html?appnum=1260147#animal I also think she has his son, Kenset Alwyn Enrico Karooo So, http://www.offa.org/display.html?appnum=1394144#animal

Dogs learn quickly, especially if their former home was not so nice. Then a new name is perfect. We changed Nicky's name from Nyako, picked a "sound alike" and she learned it pretty quickly, well, as much as some basenjis ever "learn" their name. Some days she doesn't recognize it at all, haha. Eddie was Skippy, I looked at him and called him Fast Eddie and it stuck. That boy knows his name all the time! And do tell, what is the awful name???

@ibi_n_sane: I think your dogs are giving you a silent hint to change their food into BARF ;-) I would not worry about the squirrels, frankly if they were in good shape of body and mind they would not be caught by a basenji ;-) That's what worries me!

our garden is loaded with fieldmouses at the moment…. my B's do not care very much but my Ibizan hounds snack them all the time, sometimes they bring one inside for me to have, as a present, and they look quite offended when they notice I throw their delicious present in the garbage can ....

Well done for taking the time with Lana to prove to her that your family was going to be her family. So glad to hear that your efforts have paid off so well.

All of mine are having a longer and larger shed right now than is usual. I think it because it has been unusually hot and humid for a longer time than normal.

Cody is doing very well. I hope that you both will be happy in your new home and that you find another equally good trainer.
