RE: She bit a frog! HELP!
You are very right to be concerned. We lost a beagle 3 weeks ago and only just discovered over the weekend that it was a bufo frog. (after reading an article on Friday about them) I found and destroyed one in my backyard.

RE: Florida Basenji's
Well this Sunday is going to be the Rays game. Everyone is telling me how lucky I am to be going to a sold out game (but I would rather be going to the dog park) I do beleive Kizzie and Pikachu would agree! Hope to go next Sunday!

RE: Florida Basenji's
Well Kizzie appears to be a Houdini. I am using that special collar/harness that goes around the neck and under the armpits. (as I was told they are supposed to be basenji proof) Well she got out of it during our walk two nights ago. She got panicked by a person in the area and just backed right out of it. To say I was panicked but KNOW bettter than to chase her would be an understatement. I "acted" calm/normal as she trotted in the other direction. Then Pikachu and I did an about face and headed back to the house. (Needless to say- Kizzie beat us home and was waiting on the porch) thank-goodness she apparently loves us!!! As we LOVE her dearly as well.

RE: Florida Basenji's
Silver has become Kizzies favorite non B friend. Kizzie has not met the horse (Shadow) yet, as he lives off site at a stable. He is the bay thourobred -the first one in the horse pictures. Taz is the big black and white cat and the other cat is "Zahara". As you can see Kizzie has lots of "friends".:D

RE: Florida Basenji's
the other animals needed some face time
The first picture is of a "Serval" and no I don't own him, however they are used in the breeding program for my other cats which are "Savannahs". I beleive my cat "Silver" is able to better relate to Kizzie as they are both a bit wild! With Silver is "Zahara". I also have another cat "Taz" for the next post.

RE: Florida Basenji's
Kizzie is settling in nicely. She is doing great with Pikachu and has fallen for our cat "Silver". Planning on going to the Tampa dog park tomorrow (if we don't get rained out).

RE: The Girl from Wimauma
It is hard to beleive after all these dogs have gone through that they are so adaptable. SO glad to hear things are going well for you! Trish

RE: The Girl from Wimauma
Perhaps Isis is getting to much freedom. We are only letting Kizzie off leash in our fenced yard if we are right there to keep on eye on her and interact. Since these "B"s are very food motivated, I am using the tiny training bits as a reward. She gets a reward when she comes to me, etc. Otherwise for regular potty breaks I take her in my fenced yard- on leash. The twice a day walks are a great time to bond also, she knows when it is walk time and her and Pikachu patiently wait at the door for me to get them ready. I spend a lot of time with her just talking to her, brushing her and petting her. She has a blanket that she knows is hers. When we are watching tv she sits on her blanket at our feet. She will hang out on the couch or bed but only if we pick her up and put her there, she is not getting up by herself, yet. We also put her blanket on the bed so she has "her spot". I think the blanket (a nice soft fleece) is her "safety" zone, regardless of where I place it.
