He is just a joy! I wanted to take him home myself! What a sweet boy. He is getting fixed on fri, and I will let you know when we have found a home for him. I took him 200 miles in the car and he was crated…not one peep... Someone will hit the jackpot with him!

Sorry to hear about your happy thoughts and then your not so happy conclusion. We are somewhat in the same boat..but there will come a day when you will find the perfect little companion for your pack..

Oh no! Poor Quinn. The past few months have been rocky for him. You really are an amazing person for all you have done and continue to do for him. I'm sure he knows that he is loved now. Sending happy thoughts and hugs to both of you!

Your very welcome…I hope you have a good time. The thing to remember, if you get a jerk who comes by, is to be polite and just listen to them. They really don't care what you have to say, just want to vent and see a reaction. I always smile, say, oh, I am so sorry you had that happen to you...and then just get busy talking to someone else. BUT mostly its just good fun with very nice folks who want to talk dogs.

Well, BRAT doesn't work like that. However, I myself, try to keep the new owners and old owners in contact, if the new owners wish. Some want to become good friends with the old owners, some new owners will send an update and photos, now and again. But it will be up to BRAT's coordinator on how they handle it. If you decide to sign her over to BRAT, I can assure you that we will do right by your basenji, you and the new home she goes to. As you have been part of our adoption process in the past, you know how we work. Think about it. We have saved many dogs, some with major issues, and found the right home for them.

I wish there at least was NO KILL shelters don"t make it any better but at least gives them a better chance for a home. I know what your saying about the baby bunny. The cat next door got a mouse but did not kill it and my daughter saved it. Wild mouse in a cage with hamster toys and it lived just about year. Rita Jean

You and I spoke on the phone. Here's the Fire Service Report: Sept 2: Unpredictable. Only 28% contained. Evacuations-fire conditions change constantly. Fire very active today. Extreme fire behavior observed when winds and slopes were in alignment. Est containment date moved from sept 6 to sept 15. Acres burned: 140,150. Lightening-thunder storms predicted for Sept 3. Mandatory evacuations: Acton/AguaDulce areas, Tahunga Canyon, Big Tahunga Canyon, Mt. Wilson, Angeles National Forest and more. Karen and Chuck are still holding out at the ranch. That could change. I'm sure thoughts of leaving the ranch unattended is heart breaking and evacuating so many Basenji's overwhelming. Post Office is still standing, so I sent funds today, in hopes it doesn't burn down. @Benkura: Actually, the more I think about it, I think it was a dog not a bitch of Sally's that was in Dumfries. Either way, Sally is a font of knowledge and her pedigree database is amazing.
