"She flies on her own wings to the stars" - Zhara

As she was drifting off, I recited these lines, both in English and Latin:
"She flies on her own wings to the stars, a friend forever.
I love you, sweet dog.
Go in peace."

Zhara lost the battle with cancer on 3/15/2013. It was gentle, quiet, and quick.

What a beautiful, sweet, dear, wonderful companion she was to me and Ziggy. Safe journey, Zhara.

Beautiful - so glad that it was all that for you both. Hugs for your loss to you and Ziggy.

Run free little one, the rest of the pack welcomes you with open paws!

My heart goes out to you. I'm thankful you both had a peaceful transition.

I'm so, so sorry. I know what it's like to lose a beloved companion. What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful girl.

Oh I am so sorry. These little dogs leave such big holes in our lives when they leave us.

Sorry for your loss.

Jolanda and Kaiser

I am so sorry for your loss. We never have them long enough.

A beautiful memory for a beautiful girl - she will live in your heart always.

I'm so sorry to hear this… Peace to Zhara.

I'm so sorry she is gone, but so glad it was quick and peaceful, and that she left hearing such sweet words. Peace to you all.

So sorry for your loss.

I've had my own loss on March 21,2013

My beloved Timmy left me and my world is shattered.
Please everyone
be aware that if you use ceramic bowls made in China for your dogs water or
for feeding, that lead is slowly leaching into there systems.
This is how I lost my Timmy.
Don't let his death be in vain.

And, then throw out any bowls that you use that are made in China.

Don't let this happen to you.

Kathryn, sending warm hugs to you.
Safe journey, Timmy.

Oh Kathryn, that is so horribly sad! I'm so sorry. so much of the China thing drives me crazy. Honestly, I would not have thought to check and see if my dishes were safe. And of course it is getting so difficult to find things not made in China. It was kind of you to warn us in your grief.

I am so sorry for both losses– Zahra and Timmy, who left sad hearts but happy memories.

I never heard anything about ceramic dishes being dangerous, but now we'll all know to check. Thank you for telling us.

Sorry for your losses. I have been trying not to buy cooking/eating items made in China. I remember when I lived in Houston and there was a recall for ceramic items that had lead in them. There was a mention of testing items for lead that one could do at home and I believe send in. You might want to do a google search.
