Dmcarty, I am very sorry too, and very disapointed. The kids had one thing after another and once it was "my" turn, I was too pooped. I wish I would've gone, it sounds like it was great. I am glad you made it down here and back home in one piece, even though there were some problems along the way..

Exactly what I think/feel. As the owmer and mother to the dog we are bound to keep a better eye on them than nobody…right? It is almost like a slap in our face when they say they have to keep them, but oh, yeah, no nobody stays with the animal overnight...are you kidding me? I would push the issue as best I could to see if either they can guarantee supervision in their clinic overnight, or she is coming home with me..

When we got Eddie, Topper and he bonded very closely. Ed is his "wingman", and defends Topper when necessary. Two boys (neutered) will likely get along better than 2 girls! We know other people with 2 boys who really get along wonderfully.

I emailed BRAT about this. JR from BRAT said he called the number and left a voice mail. I haven't heard anything since then. Perhaps they already gave away the dogs. I went back in the classified section of my newspapers, and the ad was in for several days before I noticed it. Most mornings, I don't have time to read the whole paper. I just happened to notice the ad that day.

Oh, he sounds like such a nice boy…I know BRAT will do right for him.

@etzbseder: Maybe we should all check on the dog and have them contact you. Then they'd have to get back to you quick, or get annoyed by all the B lovers. I LOVE that idea! HA!

Thank you MacPac. I contacted 2 breeders in the Gainesville-Ocala area but they don't have any available at the moment. We'll keep looking. Thank you everyone for the great suggestions :)

Macpack, Thanks for the update. It is nice to know that Kona and Keoki are so happy together and that Lisa and her husband must feel so good knowing they did a great thing..

We shall see just how much hekp this little guy really gets from this forum. I called and found out that he was a puppy back 04 when he was adopted from Wayside Waifs and now family has a baby why no longer want him. She said the boy sometimes gets like to be a little stronger over other dogs. I do not care what people think of me or were Jaycee came from it's not me needing help its the the little guy. Here let me ask you this what are you looking for in the dog? As far as temperament, spunk, attitude, training, play, other dogs, does the age of the dog matter? Kids? Small furry critters (cats)?

Without coming out and saying it, I'm getting that y'all have some info regarding the chances of Fanconi based on his lineage. We're encouraging anyone in our group to be aware of the risks and have him tested. Poor little guy.
