@Shaye's: Happy Birthday Kwame - love the picture on Chris's shirt! How did you do that? The photo is one we took, we then put it on a disc and took it to a tee shirt printer. My only problem is getting it off chris to wash ;)

@YodelMa: I love the car picture…"Woo hoo, where we goin'?" Everytime I grab his leash, he bounces up and down… And I swear that he knows we are about to go somewhere.

Those are great videos! Ebony looks very content to just chill and let Hope do all the work. Hope lets out a huge yawn at the end, like saying "aww.. I am giving up". Then Ebony pounces as if to say "look, I could have done that too, but I just chose not to. But I DID want you to know I could have done it". :) You have two lovely b's!

@renaultf1: Shelley, your captions always crack me up. They both look great together. If it is Malaika looking out to sea, perhaps she is thinking, "oh, that would be a good place for Kwame." lol She told me that was indeed what she was thinking, lol

We are J J and Karin, Kansas City, Mo. Both of our kids are rescues, Itty Bitty Basenji now 5 years old, originally from Craigs List and Mr Baroo, now about 2 years old, a BRAT adoption. We have no idea where they came from or exactly how old they actually are. Bitty is the more delicate little girl with the white face, Baroo is the more muscular boy with the totally red head. That is the saddest thing I have ever seen. It must rip your heart apart to have a dog that is so opposed to being close to you. LOL.

That's so cool! I'm hoping to see that our basenji will swim too. He took a dip with my flat coated retriever this autumn, but it was one dip, and that was enough. But he's a bug on my other dog, and that dog LOVES to swim, maybe the basenji will follow - we'll see. :)

Dolce runs off leash at the dog park. If I say let's go home and head toward the gate, she follows immediately. No second calling. When we are out for a leashed walked and she sees a bunny, squirrel or chipmunk, she'd be gone if it weren't for the leash. I love seeing the pics of your B running free. It just seems so natural and full of joy.

Some of mine have been "bed diggers", but one was unique. He would get under the top cover and continually lift it with his head…...boing, boing, boing......until he was happy with it. It was quite cute, but not so much when you just wanted to go to sleep. As to digging, you do have to keep an eye on it, lest they get too enthusiastic. Found that out the hard way, with a ripped sheet and a hole in the foam topper when my guy tried extra hard to get things exactly to his liking. :p

@ownedbyspencer: Buddy must have been a very good Basenji this year! :) Happy Holidays to Buddy's family and everybody else's! +1 The people at the Alzheimer's facility asked if Zest had been good this year, in preparation for Christmas. I said "She thinks she has" ;)
