• No easy way to say this … EL D left this morning and crossed the rainbow bridge. I was there before he left and told him how glad I was that he had chosen me to be his pal.
He had been in an oxygen cage the last couple days and the doctors kept having to up the oxygen content. It was going to get worse they said and his chances were really pretty slim.
God told me he could cure him and I needed to let him go so ...

  • Oh, I am so sorry. I thought for sure . . .

I don't know why these pups leave us so soon. Take care of yourself.

El D, there are lots of dogs we all miss over there. Tell them hello for us. We will all miss you.

  • I am truly very sorry. It's so hard to make sense of things like this. Please take care.

  • I am so sorry. He was so lucky to have you and to know how loved he is.

  • I am so very sorry… so many hugs being sent to you.... and he is free of pain and running free with those that have gone before him over the rainbow bridge... he is there watching over you and thank you for all the love you gave him... and for having the courage to let him go.

  • I am very sorry. He was lucky to have you as his pal.

  • I am so, so sorry. I hope your heart heals with time….

  • I am so sorry that things could not have turned out better. My heart aches for you and I am so sorry. Hugs…

    Pat

  • I'm so sorry, Wizard. May your memories of him help you through his passing.

  • Wizard, I am so sorry to hear that.

Here is a poem hope it might help alittle ..

    …...I’m Still Here..........

Friend, please don’t mourn for me
I’m still here, though you don’t see.
I’m right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I’m always near.
I’m everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I’ll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I’ll never wander out of your sight-
I’m the brightest star on a summer’s night.
I’ll never be beyond your reach-
I’m the warm moist sand when you’re at the beach.

I’m the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I’m the beautiful flowers of which you’re so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.

I’m the first bright blossom you’ll see in the spring,
The first warn raindrop that April will bring.
I’m the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you’ll see that the face in the moon shine is mine.

When you start thinking there’s no one to love you,
you can talk to through the Lord up above you.
I’ll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you’ll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.

I’m the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I’m the smile you see on a baby’s face.
Just look for me friend, I’m every place!

  • I am so sorry, I wish I had the words to make things better for you. El D was a very loved B and he loves you very much.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss.

  • I'm so, so sorry. I read the post last night, but was at work and couldn't offer condolences then. I know this has been a struggle for you and was very quick. My heart breaks for you.

  • So sorry for your lost!

  • Thanks everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and support (and Phoenix for the poem). My vet and the folks at the university hospital were just great and very helpful. It is tough.

  • We are so so so sorry for your loss. I hope with all my heart you can mourn and heal and cherish everything you had together. We are with you.

  • Our thoughts are with you and El D. Words seem too small for situations like these. He was a wonderful friend, and he will be missed.

  • Anita,
Soon you will remember only the good and fun times with El D…. when I let Maggii go (granted it, it was due to old age, but she was my heart dog) it was very hard to think of her without crying and missing her. But as the months passed, we remember only the fun times and the love that she gave us...
