@tanza: I doubt there will be much swelling… and I would not use the Rimadyl unless you really need to.... of course I am not a fan of Rimadyl The site looks good this morning. I did give him a Rimadyl last night, since I wanted him to sleep well and not bother the site. I think now that may have been a mistake. Maybe a little pain would be a good thing. He's behaving perfectly normally, actually a little more nutsy, I think, after being contained all day yesterday. I hope he knows what he's doing…....:)

When Lillie had stitches in her paw, I needed to keep the paw dry. I tried everything. What worked and fit the best were natural rubber, waterproof dog boots by Pawz. 12 disposable boots…slips on, stays on. I believe they were around $17.00. Their website is www.PAWZDOGBOOTS.com. Of course, as soon as we came in from our walk, Lillie was trying to get them off. Another waterproof dog boots we tried were waterproof nylon boots with non-skid soles and Velcro straps for a snug fit. $9.99 They did not fit as snug as the pawz. There is no website on the package. I use a car harness with My isZi because if I don't she wants to sit on my shoulders and it makes it very hard to drive. I have no idea why she wants on my shoulders even if I'm sitting at the desk on the computer she thinks she has to be on my shoulders. I guess because her ancestor's were carried that way?

I think it is the texture of the remote controls that Wyatt likes most …and the game of stealing it. Wyatt likes to chew a lot of things, but that is his favorite. I got the replacement remote control in the mail ($58 :mad: ) and as soon as I took it out of the box he ran up and tried to take it from me, still in the plastic. On Friday, both dogs had taken 4 phone books from the magazine rack and several books from the book shelf and laid them out on the floor:confused: No chew marks, just laid out all over the living room floor. I have no idea what that what about. I just imagined they were playing "the floor is lava" game I used to play when I was little:p

@Andrew: Thank you…. I think I have officially gone Basenji crazy. My boyfriend teases me because I have taken over "his" dog, "his" username, and "his" love & gone two steps farther. He wanted a basenji because he had a mix growing up, and I was very leary. But now I have fallen head over heels in love with our dog... I plan my day around trips to the park, budget money just to buy him treats & toys, think of silly games to play with him to make him happy, etc. Thank you for the resources! I'm tired of all the same old reading about Basenjis on the internet (the Basenji is a barkless dog... always alert... blah blah blah). Now I want to REALLY learn about them. And there are many of us here that will be happy to answer questions for your too!

Chike loves to play fetch….but not when I want him too of course....just when he wants too....

They were really nice and helpful, it took about 3 weeks (they were out of town for a week) from the day I placed the order.

@renaultf1: I'd love to hear what it was like to do the paintings that you did on Yupo :D and also why you picked it for your paper…I'm just curious :D . I'm a graphic designer, so I know Yupo well, however have never had a reason to use it myself. I painted on Yupo during a 'phase' when everyone was doing it. :) It was a total trip – like painting on a sheet of plastic. However, it made for some very unique and interesting hard edges. Lots of people painted with watercolors but I thought that was risky considering they would wash right off if they got wet. I did my work with fluid acrylics which stays put when dried. You bringing this up makes me think that I just may try a Basenji on Yupo one of these days. :) There is a veteranarian in Georgia who does some wonderful pet paintings on Yupo. She-Ra goes to the door, then looks over her shoulder at us. Problem is, sometimes she's playing a game with us, where she just wants to see if we'll get up and open the door. We're putting a stop to that by putting her out forcibly if she starts to walk away so she knows if we get up to open the door she's going out. Period.

I think Booger will love a new friend…When I got Chike as a puppy the breeder felt very strongly about having two b's. She believed in opposite sex and an age difference. I deferred to her judjement and she found an older rescued bitch that was supposed to be very friendly. They got along fine for a few days and then for some reason the older bitch went after chike, cut him up really bad and broke his lower jaw. She went back to the breeder and Chike spent several days in the hospital. While that is an awful start, once he was well my vet kept his eyes open for a possible addition and we eventually found Brandi. She was about 3 at the time, had been turned in to the pound after her owner died, and was amazingly sweet and kind to Chike who first thought she was a new chew toy. They have been best friends ever since and Chike simply will not abide doing anything or being anywhere without Brandi. The only time he has torn up things he was not supposed to was when i once took Brandi to the groomer without him. I came home to torn up pillows and such and as soon as we came home he looked at me and peed right in front of me....I learned not to seperate them again.... And as for picking things up....Brandi barked and barked when we brought her home and within a few months she had totally stopped barking. Now she may bark at a squirrel, but she has become basically barkless. Good luck!!

I hope to. Her dogs are beautiful. After talking to her for an hour or so I could tell that she cares for her dogs. I can't wait to meet her or her dogs. If I would have known that she was who she was when I was talking to her (dogs in book, knows way more than me.) i would have never been able to talk to her the way that I did. I must thank her for that. Anyway, she is a wonderful person. I hope that someday I could know half as much as she does.

This entire thread is hysterical. (Sorry, Tucker…I guess it wasn't funny while cleaning up) I have tears in my eyes. Thanks for making me laugh! Glad to know he's doing well. I've been there quite a few times myself, but usually it's limited to the dining room rug. Can't wait to throw that sucker out...
