RE: Good vet in Georgia
We take Max to the Banfield in the Petsmart on Cobb Pkwy in Acworth. We have gone to many different veterinarians but only found two that we feel comfortable with. We have the Banfield insurance which really helps, but most importantly he is comfortable going there and we trust them. He has been there twice in the past couple of weeks getting a cyst removed. They call in between appointments to check on him and see if we have any concerns. We do not like all the Banfield clinics, in fact the one on 92 we did not like. Another good vet is Randy Esbeck at Sawnee Animal Clinic 770-887-1900. He is a Basenji specialist. It's in Cumming Georgia. It's just to far for us to go.
Good Luck,

RE: Does your Basenji go umph?
Max burps too and snorts. He's just funny. I've never had a dog like him. Ot seems like every Basenji is spoiled rotten:)

@Vanessa626:
Funny this topic came up again…just yesterday we were talking about how Chance makes sounds like he is an old man when he breathes. Anytime you move him it sounds like effort on his behalf. Does anyone else hear this too?????
Max also makes those sounds when you move him. If you just ask him to move he grunts looks at me and puts his head back down. He's so funny.

RE: Basenji or horse?
Max gets revved up and does that too. He will run through the living room, careening off the couch, darting up the stairs. :eek:

Basenji or horse?
Max sometimes shows more characteristics of a horse than a dog. Max trots around the house instead of walking. He even makes horsey snorts. When he wants a treat he pulls up his front legs just like a horse would and teasingly paws at the ground when traumatizing the cat. I have never had a dog with so much personality.,:)

RE: Pet Insurance
We have pet insurance for Max. It is called Banfield insurance. It has saved us a bundle.

Does your Basenji go umph?
When Max is irritated or trying to get your attention he kind of goes umph. It's like a grunt. He is doing it more and more. It's the verbal equivalent of rolling your eyes!!!!! :rolleyes:

RE: Max decided to redecorate
How true!!!!! I think we are going to wait awhile before we get a new couch. As for the rug, we did a little rearranging. I wouldn't trade him for the world, even if he can be destructive at times. Our Max is also a black and white basenji. I haven't seen to many others. I will have to post a picture. Everytime I try it says there is an error.

Max decided to redecorate
When I came home the other day, Max had redecorated. He ate a hole in the rug and chewed the flaps off the bottom of our leather couch. As soon as I walked in I knew he had done something. Usually he comes running to me and is happy to see me. This time when I walked in he looked at me :eek: and ran upstairs to hide. While I was cleaning up his mess downstairs he kept peaking around the corner. It's hard to stay angry when he looks at you with those brown pitiful eyes. :rolleyes: He knows it too.;)
