Welcome and many thanks for your work with the 'mixes'. I respect all the wonderful people who do this work.
In the UK we don't have a major rescue problem but don't know about the mixes as our Resue only accepts pure bred (as far as they know). Having said that we don't have many mixes here either. Of course our Basenji population is much smaller than yours so its difficult to compare but this year for instance we've had 2 needing new homes and they were dealt with direct and weren't actually kennelled as Rescues.
Welcome to the Forums, Joanne. I was one of the people who helped get Billy up to you. My husband and I picked him up from Peggy in Merced, CA and drove him up to Petaluma, CA. He is one of the few adult male basenjis that my male really liked.
Oh, I remember everybody who brought Billy here, I wouldn't forget
Can you believe that was 10 years ago this month, he's 13 now!
I remember the web site too, was it called "Billy's Wild Ride"? His BUR run was a record at that time, I think! Welcome, Joanne.

Yes it was, and it's still up: http://basenjis.homestead.com/billy.html
I think that run may still be BRAT's longest.
