• I'm so sorry for your loss and even more tragic if it was an accident.

  • When I say she choked, I mean her collar got caught on her cage…

  • I am so sorry.

It is one reason I never leave collars on. Freak accidents happen. Had friend who had 2 pups playing in back yard, one got jaw caught in the collar of the other and broke it's jaw and killed it before she was aware.

  • My heart is aching for you. The loss of our loved companions is never easy.

  • I was really little when she died, so I don't really remember her.

  • Thank you for sharing about your loss. You have helped me - I think that I will take Kipawa's collar off whenever I put him in his crate.

  • @Kipawa:

    Me too ! ….............

  • I have 1 yr old female and 2 1/2 y/o male basenjis..they are great but I would love to be able to see if they would get along with my 2 dobies..I have plenty of fenced separate spaces for both pairs ..but would love to be able to trust them together..my instinct tells me not to try..any ideas??

  • I NEVER leave collars on my B when he is crated. He hates his crate and will throw fits which could spell disaster should it get stuck in the bars or something.

I am sorry for your loss 😞

Why are you afraid of mixing them? Have you let them together with supervision and had a problem? Are the Dobes same sex or male/female? Are they spayed neutered?

  • I am not sure I understand this thread.

I am not sure I understand this thread.

I don't either. I really wish people would start new threads instead of starting up a conversation inside someone else's thread. It is especially disrespectful to be posting on a eulogy post.

  • So sorry, my husband lost a boxer puppy to a crate accident when he was a child, somehow the pup pushed open part of the door and strangled.

  • So sorry for your loss. I lost my 10 yrs old Boy to Lung Cancer a month ago. I know the pain that comes with our little buddies passing on:(
