• When I walk the dogs or when i'm at the dog park alot of people are curious about my 2 Bs. After a few question many will ask me if i'm going to breed them. I always say no got them fixed. I also tell them I leave that to the people who know what they are doing. But last night on a walk when I told that to the man when he asked he looked at me like I was an idiot! Laughing with that look oh so condescending he informed me I didnt need to know anything that the mother dog would take care of it. I told him breeding was about more than just throwing 2 dogs together, OMG he gave me that look again as I walked away.

  • Oh, honey, you can't fix stupid!

  • People have certain fixed beliefs with the limited knowledge they have. If he were to spend a lot of time on this forum reading all the posts about breeding, breeders and health concerns you'd see someone with a 180 degree opinion.

so good it had to be repeated.

Amen to that Sharron!!! And Amber… all any of us can do is "spread" the word.... people will listen or not....

  • That's pretty much the general attitude everyone has here where I live; there are no real breeders here, so nobody knows any better.

  • I find it interesting and strange how many people assume that I am going to breed my dogs just because one of them is a show dog.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Well said and it needs to be stamped in indelible ink on some people.

Of course you could have gone into the whole spiel on how natural selection works in the wild. Then slowly spelled out why this isn't the wild.

Wait until they get that glazed look and then smile gently. "See, I knew you would understand."

    Then exit stage left.

  • What a perfect solution!
