R/W Female in NC, 4 months, in need of a new home

Basenji Rescue
  • Congratulations!! How exciting! My brother just got a New B puppy named Hank from a breeder in Missouri. They all came to visit this weekend and boy o boy was he cute! He was a Great little guy. Our 2 yr. old Jonny LOVED HIM! They had so much fun and were soooo good. They both were so tired that night! haha

  • Here is a picture of jonny and hank. They had a Blast! So did we. They were a hoot!

  • I just heard from Marc and he said …...Mia can come to live with us.
My heart is filled with joy. I can't help but cry tears of joy.

  • That is wonderful news, Lisa!!

I'm so happy for you, Mia and Mark.

Additionally, if you are reading this Mark, thank you so much for all you have done on behalf of this country. Gods speed to you on your next tour. I hope you can rest easy a little, knowing Mia is well loved.

  • Good Job Lisa and Marc! You guys have done great for Mia!

  • Thank you all so much for your help and information over the past few days. The people here are much more generous than I'm used to and it's refreshing.

Lisa, you seem so genuinely excited that it makes ME excited for Mia to go to a loving home. I'm a little sad but at least I can keep the bathroom door open without worrying about a TP storm when I walk by!

  • Glad this everything has worked out so well… and I would also like to add God speed and a safe journey on your next tour. While you will be placing your pup in a great home, I think.... Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

And by the way... you will miss not having your TP all over the house...ggg

  • I could not get the picture on the last post so here it is now! Boy, did they have fun!!

  • Remember Marc…We would love to keep you updated with her progress. Just let me know where I can contact you after you leave for duty.

I am having a hard time concentrating on my work today. All I can think about is letting all my family and friends know. I am sending her pics to everyone I know.

Also Marc, thank you for serving our country. You and all the men and women are in our prayers.

  • Marc,

I too want to thank you for your service to our country. As a veteran myself I know how it feels to have to leave your pet with someone else when you get deployed and then deciding that the best place for them is with that someone else. You are doing the best thing in the interest of Mia which is awesome, someday you will be able to have a pet again.

    Stay safe.

  • Awwww … very sweet!

I could not get the picture on the last post so here it is now! Boy, did they have fun!!

  • A couple more pics, like ya asked Lisa. I took about 30 pics, but she's blurry in every one because she won't stand still! And no, I'm not choking her in the one.. she's chewing the soy sauce off my hand from lunch haha

  • What a cutie! I'm so glad this is working out well for everyone. Sounds like she'll have a great home and while it's hard for you to let her go, it is the best thing for her.

  • What a beautiful Girl!! God bless you and keep you safe.

  • Congratulations to all involved. Love this happy ending.

Marc take care of yourself and check in here from time to time if you can to let us know how you're doing. If you need anything when you're over seas, let us know. I'm sure there's plenty here that are willing to send care packages. Be safe, and God speed.

Lisa, your excitement is catching. You'll be a great new 'mom'. Perhaps you can start a new diary thread from when you start out to pick her up, and all your following weekly ups and downs. That way, if Marc can't read here when he deploys, you can print and snail mail him.

  • Yay for happy endings! And Mia is so lovely! :D

  • Lisa - I'm so happy for you.
Altho, I'm sorry I won't have the opportunity to meet you, Marc, and Mia.
With faith, everything works out the way it should.
A big hug to you and Marc from my furry family and me.

Please keep us updated on your Basenji experience. :)

What a darling. Sadly, my girls were orphaned and adopted after their spirit was almost broken. Y'all have the opportunity to give these pups a wonderful life.

  • Yeah!! I love reading stories like this. I was able to adopt Miles, our boy with the help of a former member of this site. Hurray Basenjis and Basenji-People!! :)

  • What a wonderful happy ending!
And Marc, if you can keep in touch with us while overseas then you can live vicariously with Mia and all her new beastie friends.
You will be in our prayers and we hope you come home safely (and thanks for serving in our place).

I didn't mean to imply anything negative about BRAT. I think they do amazing work. I was just saying that, according to the shelter, BRAT wasn't going to be able to take the mixed puppy. I understand why they can't; it's just so sad to think of all those homeless little guys. He looks more like a terrier mix to me, but he's a cutie whatever he is, and I hope he finds a wonderful home. Fingers crossed for Mama B, too. I think a curly haired Basenji would be adorable!

This group and BRAT are great…everyone wants to do what they can to help these old dogs who fall on hard times. These type of b's just break my heart. Glad to hear this old dear will fall into soft hands.

Isis is very likely going to her new home today or tomorrow! A lovely home who's home all day which is exactly what she needs!
