R/W Female in NC, 4 months, in need of a new home

  • @kono:

    A couple pics from today.

    What a little darling.

  • I appreciate everyones input.

I just sent a long email directly to Marc about the great possibility in adopting Mia. I wanted to give him information about our household. I want to assure him that if this goes through, Mia would be in a loving, caring household.

I have been researching this breed since last October/Nov. This is when I first was introduce to this breed. I have been a pet walker once to twice a week for three dogs and two being Basenjis. I have fallen head over heals.

I am so excited, I can't sleep. I want to make sure I have a plan in place in transporting her by car.

  • I brought both Shadow and Sugar up from Robyn's in Georgia. A 15 hour drive approx. I stopped every 2-3 hours or when he/she would wake. Worked out great. Stayed in the hotel overnight with the babies sleeping with me so I would know when they needed to go out as well.

  • Thanks for the information. I think this would be less stressful then having the puppy flown.

  • I just wanted to let everyone know that we have decided to adopt Mia from Marc. We are so excited. I am waiting to hear from Marc. I ask all of you to keep your fingers and toes cross for us.
I feel like a mom bringing her baby home for the first time. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  • Hope it all works out for you!

Good for you Lisa. You are doing a great thing. I think you will find Marc is a pretty good guy too.

  • Congratulations!! How exciting! My brother just got a New B puppy named Hank from a breeder in Missouri. They all came to visit this weekend and boy o boy was he cute! He was a Great little guy. Our 2 yr. old Jonny LOVED HIM! They had so much fun and were soooo good. They both were so tired that night! haha

  • Here is a picture of jonny and hank. They had a Blast! So did we. They were a hoot!

  • I just heard from Marc and he said …...Mia can come to live with us.
My heart is filled with joy. I can't help but cry tears of joy.

  • That is wonderful news, Lisa!!

I'm so happy for you, Mia and Mark.

Additionally, if you are reading this Mark, thank you so much for all you have done on behalf of this country. Gods speed to you on your next tour. I hope you can rest easy a little, knowing Mia is well loved.

  • Good Job Lisa and Marc! You guys have done great for Mia!

  • Thank you all so much for your help and information over the past few days. The people here are much more generous than I'm used to and it's refreshing.

Lisa, you seem so genuinely excited that it makes ME excited for Mia to go to a loving home. I'm a little sad but at least I can keep the bathroom door open without worrying about a TP storm when I walk by!

  • Glad this everything has worked out so well… and I would also like to add God speed and a safe journey on your next tour. While you will be placing your pup in a great home, I think.... Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

And by the way... you will miss not having your TP all over the house...ggg

  • I could not get the picture on the last post so here it is now! Boy, did they have fun!!

  • Remember Marc…We would love to keep you updated with her progress. Just let me know where I can contact you after you leave for duty.

I am having a hard time concentrating on my work today. All I can think about is letting all my family and friends know. I am sending her pics to everyone I know.

Also Marc, thank you for serving our country. You and all the men and women are in our prayers.

  • Marc,

I too want to thank you for your service to our country. As a veteran myself I know how it feels to have to leave your pet with someone else when you get deployed and then deciding that the best place for them is with that someone else. You are doing the best thing in the interest of Mia which is awesome, someday you will be able to have a pet again.

    Stay safe.

  • A couple more pics, like ya asked Lisa. I took about 30 pics, but she's blurry in every one because she won't stand still! And no, I'm not choking her in the one.. she's chewing the soy sauce off my hand from lunch haha

  • What a cutie! I'm so glad this is working out well for everyone. Sounds like she'll have a great home and while it's hard for you to let her go, it is the best thing for her.
