The Toilet Paper Thief

One of Indi's nicknames is Badsenji….mostly because of his wicked sense of humor

He loves to pull one over on me and this being our first doggie ever (or our adult lives) we have a lot to learn. He has been a very diligent teacher. And I love him all the more for it.

😃 hahahaha I've had those smug "my b would never do that" moments… shortly before I discover her doing whatever "that" is, of course!

Thats crazy I thought only my bougles did the t.p. thing ! she loved that stuff prefering the organic to the bleach treated ,go figure!

We keep a squirt bottle in the bathroom, as they often decide to run with the tp when you can't chase them.
It does keep the dogs away…

What is a DH?

Internet shorthand
DH=Dear Husband
DD= Dear Daughter
etc

Sometimes I've seen the D stand for darned etc too!;)

Kayah did that to me when I was in the bathroom last week. I got some pretty funny photos of her shredding away. I had heard that they like to shred toilet paper and yes..it's true.

Must be in the breed, Bailey and Jasper both love to pull the roll off the holder, run onto the bed and just see how much they can eat before they get busted.

@Porthos:

Still staring at me through the corner of his eye, he put his front legs on the counter and slowly opened his mouth, and was going to grab the roll of paper.

This made me laugh because my female does the same thing - she'll jump up, put her paws on the desk beside me & sniff around. Then she'll start to crane her neck ever so slowly to grab something on the desk & I just watch because, surely she can't reach that!, but her neck just keeps stretching & stretching & then, ever so calmly & smoothly, she'll pluck the object in her sights & off she goes! She gets me every time! :p

What is it with tissue paper and Basenjis? My two boys will eat their dinner side by side with no problem but if one gets a tissue, they will have a real argument over that!

My basenji mix girls definitely got the tp trait…. The older one (Sasha) likes the stuff, and will sometimes steal a paper towel or kleenex if you aren't watching.... But my baby girl (Macey) LOVES THE STUFF..... She occasionally will snatch it out of your hands (even as your hand is in route to use it on the toilet), but that's only if she hasn't had her "rations" in a while and she's upset about it. Usually, when she hears the tp roll moving or sees it in your hands, she'll promptly sit like a good girl and look expectantly and very intently at it, expecting you to hand it over for a treat. If you don't, it's like she makes a mental note and next time you need some tp, it's HERS.... However, she is a fair-minded girl. If you tear off ONE sheet and offer it to her as a peace offering, she'll tear it up in the bathroom or hallway by herself and let you use as much as you need without being bothered again.... hahaha.... She knows how to bargain, that's for sure!!!!

For all you showies out there, has anyone used tp as bait in the ring 😃 ??????????????????????????????????????????

We have to keep the bathroom doors closed and the trashcans up on the back of the toilet. Otherwise, they would have a field day! Maybe someone needs to market TP or kleenex flavored dog food or treats.

Yesterday was the first time Gossy got the bug – not the tp but the tissue box. It was a really really windy day and the box fell off the counter (which is next to the window). Yup she found it and had the tissues (chewed and unchewed) strewn allllllll over the place. 😃

TOO funny! Thanks for the laugh. I needed one this morning!

These are hilarious! Miles is a TP freak too. Well… He really only likes the roll; not the actual paper. His favorite paper-product is a q-tip though. UGH!! Those are so nasty to have to pull out of their mouths!!

Lexi (knock on wood) has NEVER shredded paper or cared about paper-products!!

My rosey is a TP-aholic, she just cant resist it if she finds a roll anywhere, she can shred a roll in about 10 seconds flat 🙂 also my bathroom trash bin has to live on the back of the toliet.. or else you'll find its all over the house even in my bed ohh the horror…
My friends with other breeds of dogs keep saying why oh why do i let her run my house they simply have no idea 😉

Jaycee has not done the toilet paper yet but her and the trash can right after we got her was unreal. We had never had a puppy get into the trash can. This was not mean and did not hurt Jaycee.. My daughter was in the kitchen peeling pot's and pulled trash can over by her and Jaycee went crazy like it was chasing her. We had something in there that made noise and she did not like it. After that ever time Jaycee would look at trash can we would take it act like it was going to get her. Then when she seen the out door can's she ran like o no that is the parent's to that little can in the kitchen. No more trash problems lid can be open and she no touch. However she has made up for getting into many many more things but thats ok.

@wizard:

EL D doesn't bother with the toilet paper – he's too busy licking my skin (ick)

My Bs just love it when I step out of the shower. They come straight over and start licking me dry! It tickles when they 'do' my feet. :o They also love loo roll!!! 🙂
