• It has been one week since I had to release my lovely Classy.
She was my black beauty, gentle friend, best mommy dog.
She will be missed by me ad her constant companion, her
    son,Timmy.
She was 15 years and 4 months old.
I would like to post more ,but not now
It is still too fresh in my mind and I can't process it right now.
    Sleep well my baby girl

  • Was so upset writing I forgot to sign my post.

  • Kathryn, i am very sorry to hear of your loss of Classy.
    Run free little girl

  • I'm so sorry, it is so hard no matter what their age.

  • Classy was such a great little basenji. I bred her and her mom and also had her grandmother.
Now, I also have 3 daughters and a son to keep the line going.
Her daughter,Indy will be bred to my dog, Rocky.
Hope to pass on Rocky's racing ability and Indy's' wonderful, sweet temperment
Classy was a gentle mom dog and also such a great teacher.
Teaching her pups to always be gentle and racing until she was 14 years old.
Never a fast dog,she was honest
Not a champion, but a champion at heart.
She is missed by all who knew her.

    Kathryn

  • It sure sounds like you named her right! Again, condolences. Sounds like a hard act to follow, but since you have her offspring, you still have some of her. A gentle, honest dog is such a blessing.

  • It never gets easier when we have to let them go, they are all special. Memories last forever. All the best.

  • So very sorry for your loss. They leave a huge hole in our hearts. Classy sounds like the perfect basenji.

  • First Basenji's

Weep not for me though I am gone into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace, my souls at rest.
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed.
    For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts,
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath
    Remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
    But celebrate my life.

  • I am so sorry for your loss, Kathryn. She sounds like she was a wonderful girl and I know she will be missed.

  • Kathryn, please accept my condolences. It is so hard when our loved fur babies pass. You offered beautiful, from the heart words about her… "Never a fast dog, she was honest. Not a champion, but a champion at heart ... " How special that you had time with such a wonderful spirit.
