Dudley :-(

Only 11 months old. He pulled an escape act, as he has done before. This time he decided he would ignore me completely and see if he could catch a passing semi. Like most things he decided he was going to do, he did it. Unfortunately, he didn't realize that this was not a giant bunny.Seeing something like this happen and knowing there's nothing you can do to stop it is a horrible experience.
The very odd thing is that I'm not a big picture taker. I hadn't directly taken a picture of Dudley since about 1 month after getting him, last May. This past Sunday, he jumped up on me while I was watching football on the couch and decided it was time to wrestle. He was being so crazy that I couldn't help but quickly grab my phone and snap a picture as shown above. Just a hair over one hour later, he would be gone. That picture now means more to me that I ever would have imagined at the time of taking it.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Basenjis can be awful escape artists. Hopefully this will serve as a reminder to everyone.

Oh no! I'm so very sorry you lost Dudley. It's a very, very traumatic experience. Buddy is the same age and I got him in May as well. He slipped out an open gate a month ago and ran 2 miles in about 30 minutes. Luckily I got him back unharmed. Some Bs will chase cars and trucks.

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss.
It makes my heart hurt. Dudley was a very cute boy. -
I am so sorry for your loss, so sad. He was so young and such a cutie.
Otis is only 10 monts old, and he got hit by a car at 4 months, thanksfully he was Ok, but ever since he has this determination to chase cars or trucks while we are on walks, I will never let him be loose in our front yard again..it is horrible to witness your beloved pet get hurt or pass like that..
So sorry. -

My Jaycee will be 11 months old end of this month and I would lose it if a car got her. I am so very sorry about your loss of Dudley but very happy you got that special picture. They are so fast how I wish just sometimes we could stop time for even just a min. Please take care.
