So sad to report that the last born of our Dorsey and amina litter, born 12/27/11, is no longer part of our pack here, but waiting for us at the Bridge.
Her cleft palate was too bad to overcome, and our vet helped her go over today at only 3 days old.
Good bye tiny girl, wait for us!

I am so sorry for the loss. We know we are probably going to lose some puppies, but it is still so hard and so sad.
One bit of news is that AKC is helping fund a cleft palate genetics study. Hopefully in the future, we will be able to do DNA tests to determine the cause.

That brought tears to my eyes. I am so sorry for your loss. Buddy's Pal said it beautifully - "she is perfect on that side of the Bridge".
