I would love to see how Dallas reacts in the snow. He was shivering when he was outside today, in Florida, when it was like 60 out & breezy. Such a weather whimp! I swear when we move back up to VA this dog isn't going to know what hit him…
How fun! A friend told me her brother and nephew went to see them in NJ a few days ago or so! I think we all loved them in "the day"…
I would LOVE to take my family to see them!
What a great family night to remember!
I've had a dog door in my sliding glass door, but I had one put in the wall when I got a nice new sliding glass door and didn't want to ruin the look (and some accessibility). I've had 3 basenjis over about 18 years, and they have loved being able to go out and sunbathe in the backyard whenever they feel like it. They stay in when it's raining or cold–but will go out to do their business.

Well, supposed to be...that is advertising. I have lots of clients with problem 'labradoodles' and 'goldendoodles' and 'puggles'. They are no more or less likely to be the 'perfect' dog than any dog who was adopted from a shelter, or purchased from a breeder.
Again, you can't MAKE a perfect dog for everybody...and IMO there are plenty of dogs out there to choose from, to find the best fit for anybody.
If this is a recent change, has the dog been seen by a vet? When a dog is in pain they will often have a behavorial change and be more grouchy and not like being touched.
I'm not a fan of small dogs of any kind. I like a dog that's a real dog, not some women's purse accessory or a thing you have to carry around on a table(tea cup poodles)
Our satellite got trashed too…the snow fell off of the roof and it's not a pretty site. We'll have to have it mounted somewhere else since this is the second time this season...and once last year too! Such a bummer...
She is hear as so basenji like in her play - I've only introduced her to 1 of my males and they are getting along fine. I however have a nasty cold so I'm mostly sleeping and she is having to be in a pen unless I can watch her. She also has the beginnings of a UTI so she is piddling everywhere - which has not been fun so her movement in my house is a bit restricted until we get a handle on it.
I am a member of the HCBC and have gone to a show up in greeley. I would love to go to more, but being a student keeps me from many of them and the shear distance from the others. I am waiting for another one that I can go to.
I swear websites like this just increase the chances of puppy mills & BYBs.
That is so true. This is why it is so important that it is not only responsible breeders that have websites directing people on how to find a responsibly bred puppy but also that responsible owners have websites. Every person can help battle puppy mills by helping other people find a responsible breeder. The more websites are out there directing people to websites like
Any links to the National Club's Breeder Directory and educational websites help to increase the chances that buyers will not go to a BYB or puppymill.
