The looks i expect and ill even laugh with them cause she does look comical … but i wont take away her enjoyment ... I actully put them on and they are comfortable ... and ide be happy to explain she has a condiction and that they should everyday look into thier babies eyes and make sure that they are clear ...

You can have some of the snow here! It has't stopped snowing in about a week now. When the dogs go out to chase the squirrel they are bounding through snow up to their backs!

I first took her to my regular vet she sent me to a certified ophth. vet. for a second opinion… my regular vet thought it was a ulcer which was what sandie was treated for the first time in Aug. She goes back for a recheck on the 31st .... i went on amazon.com and found the ointment i was given for nightly .. and orderd a 6 pack of it. also bought her a pink pair of Doggles which she isnt very fond of but like any thing else new to her she will get used to it ...

Yes, it is normal for bitches to mark… my girls (I have three at home) mark all the time... and usually over top where the last one went... on walks or at shows/lure trials, they will mark over top other Basenjis....

Thanks its good to be back …. Ill be posting more pictures soon as i get my digital camera.. i took that one with my cell phone it takes ok pictures but .... We will be taking Sandie with us on vacation...since we cant leave her home and she cant stay with a sitter... and bording her is out of the question... (husband freaks out at the mention she will alone at night) any sugestions ?

@nala121498: In my experience, most dogs get frisky with the wind and snow! Good observation Nala. It is very windy and cold right now. Flurrys are flying and Duke was just outside skipping about with a frisby. He ran back and forth flipping a frisby having a great time. He wanted me to give it a toss, but it is too windy to give it a good whirling toss. So off he went again. He's very frisky. Though snow is pretty, I'm not crazy for it, but I have to say I can't wait to have enough to see Duke play in it. :)

Day 3 Sandie is acting as if nothing ever happend jumping around wanting to play, eating all the same things… wish i could get her to lay still more...tonight shes like over active... I think its the cooler weather we are having, it seems to make her go into hyper active...

I put my Buttons in a K9 Top Coat Arctic Fleece Jogging suit which covers her belly and all four legs. They are really warm and perfect for our early morning walks when it's very cold here in MO. Size 3 fits most Basenji's like a glove and it does not cramp their style. Only problem is that they are quite expensive but Her Majesty Buttons worries not about little things such as that as long as she is warm and toasty.

I think my grown kids that still wont move out are worse to pick up after than Sandie… And no if theres mudd any where she seems to find it... we just really have to watch her feet...And it looks like rain today... grrrrrrrrrrrr

My Sahara does the same, don't leave any paper out, toilet paper, and the latest cardboard boxes. She was opening our boxes left by UPS until my hubby put up a nice brass shelf for the boxes. Once we came home to find the box had been torn open and his new bedroom shoes were in the yard. We were so surprised, this was the first time she had done this.

Sandies last shot was a 2 in 1.. omg i would have freaked out had she had a reaction to it.. maybe i need to add benadryl to my list of emergency items.. any one have a list of things other than the stretchy tape bandages ?? If these vaccines are so dangerous why dont they develope something that has less side effects…

Yea Basenji pups hate rain, my mix will go out in a torrent, my full will look at me like; "Are you nuts, it's wet out there"., gggg! I always walk mine on leashes so that way they have to go out, I am a good mom though and take an umbrella!!! Carole

Bindi gently chews on my fingers while we play, sleep, sit on the couch I figured it was like a baby sucking on their thumb should I stop her while she's still young as it might be a problem when she's older? or will she grow out of 'sucking my thumb'? I know some people say, don't let them 'bite' even if it's gentle because they might bite harder later in life? I have some toys and I try 'trade ya' and sometimes she just gets so frustrated that she can't chew on what ever she was trying to and 'umph's and rolls over lol I find her chewing on my bedding most of the time :/ and when she's in bed there's no toys to trade with ~Kat
