Although "NO" became what Shaye most heard, along with " drop it" (she's too quick for "leave it," so "drop it" has replaced that) and "get off the table" and "stop digging the screens" (on the porch), lately we have been firmly saying her name, then squirting her in the face with a squirt bottle. Amazing how well that works - of course the entire house is getting wet but she's getting the picture that when we pick up the squirt bottle and show it to her, she'd best stop whatever it is she's doing. Gemma, of course, responds to "stop" and "leave it." Must be the "other" kind of dog in her….

Yes, we have 9… yes, we're a bit crazy...
But it just seems to happen. Tex was from our first (co-bred) litter, we kept him and his sister. Fiber and Lela are his children, both are at least carriers for Fanconi as their dam had it, so we kept them to keep a close eye on them. (our daughter has one of the others, and friends in AZ have the other 2) Kate was our 'lease fee' when another friend leased Tex's sister BG. Amina was the only puppy to survive from BG's second litter. BG developed Fanconi and we lost her last year. When we bred the litter that Dude and Arrow were in, we were only keeping one, but my husband fell for Dude, the only red and the only male. Same thing with Dinger and Kivu, I had Kivu picked out, but my husband said, "Oh, but look at him! We can't turn down that face!!" so we had two... They are Tex's grandsons. -

I also have a tendency to just call him puppy, cat, and other names that fit what he is, and does.
