First Time

  • Ahhh!! I wanna cry, my baby B who is 4.5 months gave me my first "welcome home" barrooooooooooooo!!!

Ahh, I'm such a proud mama!

  • Our little guy baroos for strangers all the time, but not as often for us. Anyone he meets who doesn't immediately pay attention to him gets a baroo, if they continue to ignore him they get a louder one! He has baroo'd for me once when I came home from work and didn't get across the yard quick enough (he was on a tether) to greet him. He still hasn't done it for DH.

  • Congratulations, Schouiffy!!

    It's such a heartwarming feeling, isn't it?!?!? :) :) :)

I usually have to coax Magnum for one, and he won't be coaxed every time, but when he does it, it's like our own special moment.

  • Thats great! Tosca will baroo for visitors as well (especially my parents) but we are never good enough to get one, unless sometimes when we have food and she wants some, thats almost become a trick for her cause I give in and give her a scrap! :)

  • How do others coax their Bs to baroo? Cyrus is nearly one and a half year old, and I have never heard him baroo. Cale heard a baroo when he was working outside and Cyrus was shut inside, but Cyrus was pretty young then. Sort of a baroo of desparation. We don't have other Bs, so Cyrus has no role model to teach him to baroo. Any ideas to coax it out of him? I would love to hear it.

  • My other B is 15 and when we bought her she just starting barrooing on her own at about 5months - with a little help from some high pitched "barrooing" from ourselves…kinda like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S12mJk7GPiY

hehee. I love the "wheres the squirrel"

  • bodhi baroos when i get home from work and dont get him out of the crate fast enough

Ewww. I have gotten those kind of surprises too, with my cats. They have given up on rats because they have gotten very sick from eating them, but birds seem to be fair game. And like what Hope did, it always seems the head and legs are left. I guess the middle parts are juicy. Now, that is a great way to get your Hope used to having her teeth brushed. :) Just leave a few tooth brushes out around the house. By the time you really want to get into a teeth cleaning routine, she will love it!

@Quercus: Yes…I have that feeling regularly! It takes my breath away when Bella floats across the yard at over six years old...she looks as beautiful as she did as a puppy...moreso even :*) And then the spell is broken, as her son uses her as a mop to clean up all the dirt on the patio ;) Ha, ha, ha…mine is a similar story... I'm in awe the way Ruby moves...it is breathtaking. And her coat is dark chestnut so the white is soooo white, she is beautiful. And Brando is so muscular and such an incredibly male looking boy...so handsome. Liyah's coat is gorgeous...really dark chestnut with not a lot of brindle stripes...they are all so lovely to look at and I think how lucky I am that they are happy and healthy. And then "snap back to reality"...Liyah goes and clamps on Ruby's neck or grabs Brando's tail and then the noises of "cujo" end my beautiful picture. :D:D:D
