Help! The girls aren't adjusting well to Savannah… at all!

  • Poor Spooky has nowhere to sit!!!! The pups have taken over her new tower!!!:)

That poor cat puts up with more Basenji bullsh*t…... She's a real saint.

  • I was really worried, until I saw the pics ;) I hope your girls ALWAYS get along like that, how sweet! And congrats on the move!

  • You need 2 more towers, one for each of them! They look pretty happy to me, congrats on your move.

  • LOL… just goes to show that Basenjis adapt to new places... it is the humans that bring "calm" to the house and a move... and as far as sun spots... they are just not were they were before...ggg

  • Give them all time, they'll get used to it, adjust and get back to the old antics.

  • OMG see you're so far away that I didn't even get the joke until I saw the pictures! This is not a good sign. I don't get your humor anymore. This is tragic, it's the beginning of the end! :p

I was going to be like omg I'm getting updates on my bff's life through the forum? really?

Phew. I'm glad it's all ok and they're up to their usual mischief.

    um…back to work.

  • Houston

WOw you had me so worried there for a while..until I opened the pics..looks like very happy b's..good to see.
I love the Callie snuggling on the couch pic=adorable..
…and the last with Spooky and Callie on the cat tree...heck they are all good.

  • They are all actually adjusting really well. After Spooky got over her initial stress from the cat crate, nobody has had a problem. Well, mostly. Callie & Lola are running around crazy this morning because they haven't had any good exercise this week. They've got a lot of pent up energy, so we're going to try out some local parks and stuff today.
And Mauigirl, believe me, if the girls were really having trouble I would be on the phone with you crying.

  • Those poor creatures, i feel so sorry for them lounging all over the bed, cuddled under blankets and having to share Spooky's cat tower ;)

  • When I first read the post I thought "woohoo maybe this means she will move back to Atlanta!". Then I saw the pics and said "drat".

Sorry to get your hopes up like that. But the guest room is all set up. Give me another week & I'll have the house basenji proofed, and you and your whole gang can come visit for an extended vacation!

@iris-shuman said in I would like you to meet "The 'Marvel'-ous Prince T'Challah" a/k/a Prince: Iris was born in December too Not much of a surprise when you think about it ! Basenjis in the Northern Hemisphere come in to season through September/October/November and whelp their litters November/December/January. A great many litters' arrivals cause the turkey to be put back in the oven on Christmas Day while the puppies are delivered ! Decrease the size of the photo and you will be able to show Iris to all of us. And do as Tanza suggests to Daureen - get her Fanconi tested.

Not to brag (ok, maybe a little)….when we went to get professional photos done B wouldn't stop looking directly into the camera. They tried to get some natural photos but, nope, he'd immediately look back into it as soon as they were about to take it. The whole time he did that. They said they had never had that problem with dogs before and were pretty impressed by him. The problem I have is taking a photo where I can actually see his eyes and not the eye film.

@Kipawa: When watching the first video, it seemed that Loki would only go as deep as he still could have his feet on the ground. But on the second video, it does look like he is swimming with the black dog. :) He likes to stay where he can still touch the bottom, but will swim out farther sometimes if a dog he is playing with goes deeper. We also live on a small lake and though he's gone in the dog park lake without reservation for months, he's always acted like a typical B with our lake, even when chasing the ducks out of the yard. Until today. My father-in-law and husband were tossing in bread and Loki's old kibble for the ducks and fish and wouldn't ya know it? In Loki goes, chasing ducks and eating the bread and kibble! And he went out farther than he's ever gone in the dog park lake, actually swimming out, but of course the ducks were faster ;)

Yes, Bungwa will toss any of his toys into the air and catch them but definitely will not catch anything I throw. He has no competition because the others just look and say 'Boooring'!!! Interesting about your best hunters being fetchers, Quercus. I wonder if there's a reason in it or whether it's a coincidence!?

What beautiful teeth your doggies have! (I notice because I'm waiting to take my new B in for her first, and much-needed teeth cleaning.) The teeth+towel action shot is my favorite. =)
