Tears… and happiness that they are all they are. They give far more than they receive even on our best days. Thanks and AMEN!

Okay, Brat will LIST basenji mixes, and they sometimes help with transport. You absolutely should contact for pure basenjis in shelthers or need. :)

Basenjis in St. Pete may be related to the Wimauma dogs (same "breeder", all are very large basenjis). He doesn't look slim, but I don't see a bulging belly, either. Lucky for us he isn't black & white, whew! I would not be able to resist. I'll share with everyone I know…

I noticed that too. I just thought that maybe it was someone that offered to post the ad for the owner.

Oh, what a sweetie. He looks like such a lovely dog, especially by what is mentioned about him. It kills me when these animals are 'disposed of'. Would a couple get rid of a child because they have to work? In my animal loving world, it's no different for me. Pets are family, not a commodity. Okay, will get off my soapbox now.

I see I'm way behind the times on this one - just heard from my vet in San Diego - she says he's already in his new foster home and she did an exam on him yesterday. Good news, hoping that the little guy finds THE home very soon! Terry

Oh good, hopefully Bryson will have a good home, I had been talking to Eddie and nicky about a roommate but they were not receptive! Too bad about the female. I do understand that shelters do not have unlimited resources, especially for difficult or unhealthy dogs, but it is still sad. As you said, good news and sad news. You are so special for trying to save all the basenjis, posting notices, etc. Many kudos for you!

I am curious Patty M, did they or have they talked to this boy's breeder? Since they say he was the "dominate" in the litter, they must have gone directly to a breed or so it seems. It so sounds like typical behavior from a young "teen" dog that has not had proper training from the get go and from an owner that was totally unprepared for a Basenji All that said, great advise

Here is the CL Listing: http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/pet/2099113213.html Date: 2010-12-06, 7:38PM CST Reply to: comm-euwve-2099113213@craigslist.org Gunnar is a 1 year old, full blood Basenji. His previous owners were too busy to care for him so he came into our rescue. He has been neutered and fully vaccinated. He is a wonderful dog, but needs to have an owner who fully understands the breed. They are different and need the right kind of home. He gets along great with dogs after a proper introduction. He's just a fun, unique dog capable of making you laugh everyday. Gunnar has been housed in a private rescue and requires a $100 adoption fee. This fee will go to the other dogs and cats that enter our rescue. Don't pass up a chance to take Gunnar home! He deserves to have a family of his own. Well I understand it wasn't a good idea to use sarcasm… Robyn has adults she is trying to place, a new litter on the way, and finding homes right now is a hot button. I should have spelled it out not depended on anyone to get it. And I would sure hate someone new here to think I SERIOUSLY think the craigslist dogs are an option over legit rescues and responsible breeders.

Ahhh I miss all the baroo'ing. Now that Griff doesn't have his girl he rarely does it. She and he would baroo whenever anyone came into the house. Kiz is totally silent, so Griff has only barooed a couple times in the 3 months we've had Kiz :(. I had hoped Girff would teach Kiz.
