I think the basenji on craigslist is great idea.

One female and two males… according to her email to me. Tamara Penwell is her name... I wonder where she is "relocating" to? Those poor pups~ I guess she needs the $600 for her relocation truck?

Hey Nicole, good idea. Once his issues are dealt with I'd be more than happy to bring in a foster :) Ive got new ideas im putting to use and so far today everything's gone smoothly. No snarky Anubis today lol

Hi PJ, I've been emailing the lady… she just adopted this little girl on Friday, and Hattie is being aggressive to her other (first) basenji girl. I suggested that she joins this forum to get some ideas on how to get them to get along. Hopefully, with a little support, the two girls may get along. :)

He looks just like my Eddie, who is a large basenji, too. I hope BRAT or someone can pull him out.

I can't get my mind around this advert but of course the background circumstances might be not quite as the advert sounds. I have to hope not as it's terrible to think that the person wants to home a 12 year old Basenji who is not even hers just because she doesn't (yet) get allong with a child.

@yodel4me: I would love to foster but since BRAT won't let me adopt I doubt they would let me foster. I also have considered rescuing a dog every now and then on my own but I live on a retirement income so I really can't afford the extra veterinary costs. Being retired gives me more time than money. So I've decided the best I can do is volunteer at the animal shelter. Unfortunately the closest shelter I live to doesn't allow volunteers so I can only help at one that is twice the distance when I need to go into the city. Ahh..looks like a doe..too adorable.

I tried to make contact with this person and no go..I don't get this type of thinking. But her children are learning how to deal with the parents, when they get old and troublesome…

What a wonderful description of Spirit! I hope she finds her forever home too. :)
