There's nothing like a basenji in the works, from the way they instinctively lay with their had on the bum looking the other way ( I've never met a B that doesn't) to the way you KNOW they all rub on wet towels or play bowโฆit's all very endearing and in this breed you often identify traits that they all have, an insight into their genetics and their behaviors. I've never enjoyed a breed so much.

Me too!! I LITERALLY LOL! And immediately shared it with Timโฆthanks for sharing that Barkless!

I hope you don't mind, I printed it off, and hung it next to my computer

one word: spectacular

Where did you actually find it - on my own website I have a Basenji Bibliography, not started by me but I try to keep it going. Sandy Bridges actually began it.
So please email me with ANY publication you come across with stories, pictures and mentions of our Breed.
You can find out if it is there already by going to www.zandebasenjis.com/books.htm

I just found a Trex coloring page during an image search at work then altered it in Photoshop.
-
I'll have to print that off myself and do a R/W color โ it looks like s/he is slapping at the Pteronodon

OK, so not really something for the bibliography ? (Unless of course, you decide to publish !)

LOL! Love it!
How ironic! I do wonder sometimes where they actually descended from. After all, they are a primitive breed!

Monkeys. And most of them still are naughty monkeys

Great looking dog! Looks like Pearl! Love it! Gosh I love my girl!

Great likeness, a true tri attitude. BRATs Blog had a post a few days ago comparing basenjis to Velocoraptors. We think of they as "land sharks" and ferocious dinosaurs, yet they are so sweet and snuggly so much of the time. Except when they aren't.
-
Except when they aren't.
When they are not they are force to be feared. Lightning fast, smart, fearless, focused (prey/food) and will not back down. I admire my dogs as much for as bad traits as his good ones. You have to with these dogs.
I wish I could be more like my dog sometimes.
-
Love the photo-shopped coloring page! So fittingโฆand yes - you described my tri to a "T" and I do appreciated all of her traits - good and bad - finally:o! I attribute a lot of my understanding to this forum, so thank you all!
(and I've said it before - gosh, is he handsome!!!) -
Other people think we are nuts to keep our dogs, or have these type of dogs.
It does not help when they want nothing to do with other people.
Ours do not care for other people (unless they have food of coarse). People get offended when they get snubbed!
The most our dogs want from other people (than family) is A" sniff to see if they have any dogs and "B smell if they have any goodies / tissues to steal.
-
Ah - Tissues !
What joy, what Basenji Heaven !
