I live in the east suburbs of Pittsburgh. I take my B to Norwin Veterinary Associates. Ask for Dr. Harvey Bendix, if he is available. He diagnosed Senji with his liver disease and basically saved his life. He's open to alternative as well as traditional medicine.
Hope's at the Vets ER.

Hi all, my beautiful little poppet is finally home. Shes asleep in bed with me, she's very tired and sore. She cried when she seen me and almost made me cry and she buried herself in my lap. Hopefully this sling will work and now it's just a wait and see game. The vets do have high hopes for her as they done it as soon as they could.
She was a good girl for the nurses and wasn't naughty at all (very proud of this as they stated several times that they were supposed to be standoffish and aloof). They all had a chuckle at her as they tell me that she's been "talking" to her sling.
Glad to have her home. Hopefully the next couple weeks bring us good news

I'm so glad to hear that Hope is back home and on the mend. Please keep us updated as she continues to get better.

Glad she is home!

Any idea how this could have happened?

We went back to the vets later that night as the sling slid off and then she proceeded to take the rest of it off. The vets decided to leave it off as she tried to fight it more then it helping and which could put pressure on the hip. She's currently asleep in her crate after eating a pig trotter
As for what happened: we are unsure. But we think she fell from the stairs (we live in a highset house) and she may have hit the bracing under the house on the way down. Vets say it's an impact wound (received a stitch) and that's wat caused her hip dislocation. Our steps have outside railing but no inside railing. Alot of highests are like this. We are looking at adding an inside rail now (she has been at this place since 9weeks old and turns 1 on the 30th of May. So it's not like she's never seen stairs lol she's been raised with them)

Still, accidents happen in 'routine' settings, so just because it hasn't happened before, doesn't mean it won't happen again. Sounds like a fluke, though. I had a pup once break her foot falling off the bed.
Just glad it was not more serious and that she is mending! Hugs to little Hope.

oh yeah for sure. accidents happen. but just letting all know we didnt just leave her somewhere unsupervised and around something high that she didnt know about etc
shes not enjoying the crating and gets super excited that she gets the shakes in the morning when she sees us wake up (even though shes practically beside the bed - she usually sleeps in the bed with us). She gulps her food down and does a little burp at the end of it! (this is a new quirk!). shes fine during the day (sleeps) but at night just wants to be with us so she whinges a little then but we dont blame her. She lifted her head up when i was carrying her down the stairs and licked me on the cheek she makes my heart melt.
we are going to do the stairs this weekend.
we all slept most of yesterday after not having much sleep the last couple of nights. Coincidentally it was my partners birthday on saturday (she had the accident friday night) so it wasnt a very nice birthday present.
we make sure we're spoiling her with lots of cuddles and kisses.

My Maggii broken her leg at 4 1/2 months… after two surgeries to first insert a plate in the leg and then a second to re-open the growth plate... I understand your pain.... been there, done that... it was an accident... period, end of the conversation. They are dogs, they play, they run, they jump... they can and do get hurt... we do the best we can...
By the way, Maggii turned out perfect, finished her championship both in the show ring and as a Field champion... had many Best of Breeds, placings in group and a Best in Specialty win... along with whelping a litter.... so all well that ended well.

glad to hear a positive story about Maggii good on her.
yeah accident happen. its horrible.
will let you's all know how her vet app goes next monday and what the vet thinks.

So glad she is doing better. Our Xander dislocated his hip at around 5 months. He was jumping up on our bed from one side just S the whippet came racing up from the other and they hit mid air. Fortunately our chiropractor was able to fix it, he did require twice a week underwater treadmill therapy for six weeks to bring him back to 100 percent

Thanks for the update on Hope, i'm glad she's doing well

Amen on accidents happen. Thing is, same fall even if you had been standing watching probably. All things designed to age us.
Her licking your cheek, don't they just bore into your heart and carve their shape there?
