That's the spot!

  • What spots make your B's melt when you pet or scratch them?

For Cody, when I scratch him behind the ears and on the sides of his neck where the fur whorls a bit, he'll lean into my hands until he almost falls over. He does the same with cheek rubs. We were in Petsmart one day and one of the workers found the spot on his neck… when he stopped petting him to go back to work, Cody followed him like he wanted more love.
I've recently discovered that he absolutely loves his ears rubbed lightly just on the inside where the longer prickly hair sticks up a bit. His eyes cross and he'll just about topple over! :D

  • Mine melt when I gently stroke their ears!

  • I'll have to really pay attention to find Kipawa's favourite spot, because right now he is a total love sponge and pretty well melts wherever I touch him.

  • Brando loves it when I rub the white stripe that runs between his eyes…
    Ruby loves her chest rubbed...
    Aaliyah loves her neck scratched...
Ozzy loves being scratched behind his ears...

  • Abbey gets up and moves if you scratch her head or ears. But if you scratch her rumpus she'll stand there till she falls over or your arm falls off! Curious to know if other B's are like that or if she's a one of.

Sonny loves that same spot!! It's like a magic- the more you scratch- it looks like his eyes might roll back in his head & his hind leg lifts up & starts shaking! :p but the best part is the way his lip curls up on one side and he looks like Elvis! :D

Bowpi has the exact same sweet spots!

One additional spot is her chest, right between her legs, but she has to get warm enough to uncurl from her usual donut shape and allow that part to be scratched.

  • If Malaika is lying down and you tickle her tum, she rolls partialy over or lifts her back leg to give better access :D
She also loves you to scratch the back of her head, this makes her frown and her lips stretch into a realy long Crocodile grin. I will have to try and get a pic,lol

My dog had an adverse reaction to the Heartworm edible I gave her, do you possibly give one? if so is it maybe related to that? I had to switch brands and she still doesnt feel well for 1 to 2 days after I give it, but it is not as bad as the other brand. Her symptoms were changes in consistency and color and frequency of bowel movements, she didnt eat, and didnt want to be bothered. And she ate grass.

You can find a lot of puppy collars at thrift shops for pretty cheap - would never pay full price for one. I'm getting mine at 14 weeks and was told that 8-12 inches was what was being used - then at 4- 6 months graduate to 10-14 inch collar.

I had nose surgery a few months ago and when I got home I was worried the dogs would be so excited and jump all on me, but it was crazy how mild mannered and dare I say tame/domesticated they were. I swear they knew I was hurt and gave me a day or so of good behavior. They are truly great dogs to own!

This is the main problem right now, I suppose. The civil war's in the Republik of Kongo. I have been talking to a owner of Avongara Basenjis, who's daughter has been in Afrika with the last big expedition. And she had the same thoughts than I have: we thought, that if there are some Basenjis left (the ones which have not landed in the cooking pans), they are spread all over the forrest regions. Most of the human inhabitants of this region have left their houses for the next bigger city to find a little security and help there…. it is absolutely horrible, what mus go on there. But similar actions in other parts of Africa (Mali and Burkina Faso are always at the border of war like actions) plus in lots of these areas there are now many refugees from other areas which make the problems not easier for the habitants....http://www.azawakh.com/azawakhfriends/english/index.html Regards, Esther

@snorky998: You guys got me laughing as I picture "Elaine" from the 'Friends' TV series when she thinks she's the great dancer, and she really appears to be in some sort of zen spaz attack.:D I think you are thinking of Elaine from Seinfeld…. but that is exactly what I was thinking of
