that does seem excessive, Id take her on a leash walk a few times a day, not long walks, shes had surgery. if she is wearing a cone to prevent her from licking her stitches out, shell need a walk or two, If your giving her pain meds, ( shich I did for mine) shes be kind loopy ) The stiches will bother her, Basenjis like to chew, and groom, I had to isolate mine because of the licking each other, and concern.. It will be fine, some vets are just over protective,

Hello Linda, was cruising through the Forum and here you are! Congrats on the new home. In case you don't remember me, I was looking for a B and you somehow responded then we spoke of the Rainbow Bridge…. I invited you to hook up your RV if you were ever in Fl. Anyway, the new boy I adopted is a Tri-and I noticed his left front leg is white just like Maxx's in his photos! Just too funny to see this! I just wanted to add as well, that if anyone in Fl has the need for an extended stay and cannot find a house sitter, I have boarded dogs in my 'front bedroom' that I dog proofed, and since I now have quite the friendly B, he would love to keep company with another I am sure! See my home page for an image since I cannot insert one in this Quick Reply!

Elsie is the same way. She is really mean to the other dogs in the neighborhood and we have many dogs around. I had to teach the dog owners that although Elsie is really cute she is not really nice. I found that it takes Elsie eight or nine times meeting a new dog before she lets them into her pack…..We have since been told by our trainer to come back to group classes to help with her aggression towards dogs that she doesn't know. uggh reminds me of my parents dog. Lady, in her younger years, would take cat poo out of the litter box and eat/roll in it. outside she would do the same with random poo on the ground. just be glad you didnt have to clean up the carpet too! lol:p
