• Hello!
Quick question: I am VERY new at dog showing and handling so, is it considered ok to take the bait in a treat pouch instead of my pockets?

    Thanks

  • Yes, bait pouch is fine, many do it if they don't have pockets….

  • Ok thank you, I was under the impression that those pouches were only taken to obedience rings. Is is much better that way then, so I will use a treat pouch if I do not have pockets.

You can use it even if you have pockets, but are more comfortable with a treat pouch…. I like pockets, myself, but that is just me....

  • I use a very small treat pouch that attaches to me with a safety pin. It is leather and looks like a small coin purse. I was advised against using them when I first started the reason being, ' they don't streamline your look.' Excuse me? I'm like 35 lbs overweight-honey, ain't nuthin gonna make me look THAT good. LOL I wouldn't use a huge pouch, but a small coin purse size, for me, is acceptable.

Hahaha! That was a good one!
I am going to try with one 'discrete' pouch that I found with a clip, it does not look that obvious and it is very practical.

Try to find one of those little blue Tiffany leather bags. Then NO ONE is going to think it doesn't streamline you. All they are going to think is "ahhh… she got something from Tiffany".

Where can you find those? I have never seen them before.

The one that I got comes like that, it threads through the belt and also has a clip so I can use both ways, that is why I like it so much.

I found a few on eBay last night, but alas, they come with jewelry, some of it expensive. But I did do a search on "suede pouch" on eBay, and saw some interesting ones, even in a variety of colours. If you do this search, you will get about 16 pages of items, so you'll need to make your way past all of the cell phone-type covers, etc.

    Hope this helps. 🙂

Thank you, I am checking them on Ebay but the ones I see…how do you clip them or adjust them to the skirt/trousers?

  • Very few of my show clothes have pockets so I normally use 2-3 rubber bands with my armband then tuck the bait under the armband.

  • I have added pockets to a lot of my skirts and jackets, its not hard to do if you know basic sewing.

  • Cherrybrook still carries the pouch I have, its the black leathette pouch, it has an opening on the back that you can thread a normal size belt through, or use a diaper pin to pin it to your clothes thru the loop.

  • Lots of cute pouches on etsy.com

all are handmade and you might even could ask for a certain color scheme if you want.
