Ruby and I both love to go road biking! Ruby loves to run while I ride the bike…definitely something we have in common and I'm so happy she loves it. Also, Ruby is a fastidious groomer...she'll spend long periods of time bathing herself. Any of my friends who know me would say, if you want to use the shower, you should use it before me because I take forever...kind of a standing joke. I'm very much a morning person, but without the long hot shower in the morning, I'm useless. :D :D Don't know yet about Brando as he is too new to scene.

I have seen Mica when she goes on point with her tail straight out and her front and back paws CAREFULLY matching each step chatter her jaw - It kind of goes open and shut and wanders open and shut that way. She is like an arrow waiting to fly out of the bow onto the suspected target. She never stops that behavior, either. Than she makes a mad dash for the squirrel or critter and will do doggie-ups on the side of a tree - maybe 6-8 feet up the side than down. Than shell do it again just because she has to try again. I think she is getting some really strong chest muscles. I think it might me intense excitement and anticipation. Micas mom

It was just the initial greeting that was off right? Dogs do forget certain cues sometimes…she obviously remembered you...but it might have freaked her out if you crawled up to her kennel, particularly if that wasn't something that you normally do. Imagine this...if my husband was gone for a long time, and he didn't tell me he was going to come home while I was sleeping, and creep up to the bed...it wouldn't matter how nicely he was talking to me, I would be SCARED by his unusual behavior, and his unexpected arrival. Next time you arrive home, try just walking in like you normally do and say Hi Sheba (and puppy) like you normally do, and I bet she will be overjoyed. We have to remember that dog brains work differently than ours in a lot of ways. If we try to think of them just like people, we usually end up getting our feelings hurt :) Hey, and thanks for serving our country! Stay safe!

Try putting the wires in 'wiring loom' or pvc or even metal conduit. It can all be painted to match the surroundings. Loom is cheap and it might just be different enough to confuse your B into thinking it's not really a wire worth chewing at all. If this doesn't work, PVC is hard to chew but if your B wants to chew it, can eventually get through it. Metal condiut would be for the etreme case. There is also steel reinforced plastic/pvc conduit. It's basically flexible tubing with some metal mesh cast into it. Wiring loom: http://www.cabletiesandmore.com/wireloom.php?gclid=CIW3642V_pICFRW5GgodhgUfHA PVC Liquid-Tight: http://web4.automationdirect.com/adc/Overview/Catalog/Wiring_Solutions/Flexible_Liquid-Tight_Electrical_Tubing_-a-_Connectors?source=google&keyword=flexible%20conduit&type=search&gclid=COXJjJWT_pICFQ6AHgodCUuPxA More plastic conduit options: http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/category.asp?catalog%5Fname=USPlastic&category%5Fname=7513&Page=1&utm_source=google&gclid=CLTAnO6T_pICFQQRGgodR3QwFA&cookie%5Ftest=1 Flexible metal conduit: http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100025680 All of these products can be found at your local Home Depot except the wiring loom. You'll have to get that at a place that sells and installs car stereo. It's very flexible and soft and would be easy to chew through, but as I said, it might just confuse your B. :)

I think that is probably due to the oyster, Knipper. There is a lot of dog food with salmon in it, so I don't think regular fish, especially in small amounts has that kind of an effect. Yeah, Pat, he also likes the little piece of matzo that I gave him. I think it's mostly due to the thin cracker rumbling when he nibbles at it.

We finally made it home this past Saturday. It was so good to see the girls and they were really excited to have us back as well. We have been spending much quality couch time to make up for our time apart!

I have been taking Mica to a "rally-1" obedience training at the novice level. This involves doing sit, down, 360/270/turns, left turn, right turn, walk slow, walk normal or fast, weave inbetween cones, and she likes it as a challenge to do things alot of it is at the "heeling" side and than there is front and around the back to the side, too - But I think she will be going to an agility class someday - she likes to balance on and walk for 10-12 feet on logs in the water by the swamp, and also across the dried river beds in the woods, and run through the culvert at the dog park. She has also jumped through a hoop at the dog park. It seems to challenge her. She likes to be kept active. BaMicas mom

mia is 5 months old today.. and i have classes from 8am-145pm without a break long enough to come home. plus an hour total of travel time. shes fine in her crate for 7 hours. and shes done that since we first got her when she was 8 weeks old. granted its only 2x a week. we've started leaving her out if we go to dinner or something like that.. and she doesnt potty in the house then either. she can hold it for quite awhile. but i guess every dog is different

Thanks for all the help. I got the martingale one for now. Maybe I'll get the hound collar later, but I figured I'd get the kind I already know and swear by.

Thank you for the detail pictures. Excellent. I guess I would also get a XS for Talker and a XXS for Savannah. This really appears to be a nice alternative for the car. Thank you again!

Oh yes the hunter dogs… Charlie is still tormented by the adult birds at our dog park. Last spring a baby fell from the tree and hurt itself quite badly. I didn't even realize what Charlie was so interested in untill all the adult birds started freaking out and chasing him around the park. To this day they still seem to remember that he is the bad dog. :)

You know- I hadn't thought about it, but there is a new standard poodle in our complex that everytime Jack sees him he goes crazy- hackles raised, growling, baring teeth. That is the only big dog he has ever had an issue with. I think it might be because the owner doesn't pick up the poop like she is supposed to, so maybe he catches on to the fact that I'm not really their biggest fan.
