It's settled then. I'm gonna pop it. 🙂 I mess with it sometimes as well. Tucker just wants to sniff and lick my fingers after I'm done scratching at it…then he'll let me go back to work on it. As long as I let him sniff and lick my fingers as I'm messing with it, he'll let me continue and we'll eventually both bore of it and move on...

And it really bothers me that people still list Basenjis as "no bark" without also noting they are NOT mute, along with the "no" shed (wrong!!), ….

Seems like Tuck was just having a couple bad days with all of the small changes that seem so insignificant to the humans… I guess me coming back from vacation, having someone other than his walker walk him for a week and then changing back to the regular walker the next had him in a tizzy. He's not peeing anymore. I also strip tested him for several days during a week and the indicator never changed color, so I'm guessing I can rule out Fanconi for now, which would, of course, be the most extreme reaction from an overprotective parent. 🙂

I am too actually. I have been so incredibly pleased with Dallas. He is such a great basenji 🙂 Plus I know Midge is there if I have any problems, I was a bit worried in that respect about Dee since it seems she breeds a lot & does it as more of a business.

I don't know if dogs can get sick from human bacterial infections. Good questions though - maybe someone here knows for sure. But…I fear that we leave germs on our pets as we pet thier fur and kiss their heads when ill. Then another human, child, spouse or friends might pick up the germs from the dog we pet. Sort of like an unwashed door knob - in a way. Kind of gross, huh?

My friend HAS a dog. But it's an older Westie (12 years old), so it's not really a good basenji companion since it's gotten rather lethargic.

I've thought about adopting another, but I haven't a clue how Tucker would take it. I have a pretty small condo (900sf) and leaving two of them at home would stress me out beyond belief! Expecially getting a new one to bond and accept his surroundings (finding another 'perfect for my situation' dog). When I have a bigger place and a yard, I'll have a yardfull of them. 🙂

They think of everything for dogs now-a-days don't they? :p That's pretty ridiculous though and just a bit much if you ask me.

So that's how you get to be a senior. I thought it just met you were old. Just kidding..
