  • @tanza:

Dan, I just order a couple! Thanks for the site!

Welcome! I like the collar, it's 1" wide. It's not bulky and heavy on the Bs neck.

  • Those are awesome! Thanks for sharing.

  • Hey, Mr. Nobarkus…which size did you get for Buddy? I'm thinking about getting one for AJ...I like the Seamus-1...Think it would look handsome on AJ. Thx. :) B

    Get the small.

  • Thx….ordered.

    Thx….ordered.

We'll want pics of AJ modeling the new collar.:D

  • Yes, sir… :D

  • Just ordered one for Bella. Unfortunately, my wife insisted on the orange one with flowers on it.

This will be a good test of durability. So far, she's yet to keep a collor for more than a month without eating it (even the rolled leather ones).

  • Love those collars - I think I'll be ordering a couple for my B's since they have a nice array of choices.

No collar is Basenji chew proof unless it's a steel choker.

All Hounds Apparel is great if you have a collar chewer because they replace their collars for life even if chewed. All you have to do is mail back the hardware and she will send a replacement. I bought one and within a week my boy dog pulled it off the hook and chewed it. I put the hardware in an envelope with some of the pieces and sent it back to her. The next week I had a new one.

Those Basenji folks are cutting into our profits! :D So far Buddy's collar is holding up. Same with Lupine, I returned a leash and they sent a new one immediately back.

You got to love companies that stand by their products..I have had a Lupine collar sent back too, curtesy of Otis, got it back within a week..and yes, only a few parts were left..
I will wait and order one of these for when I have a new basenji neck to wrap it around…

I have used Nick Russell's collars for many years and they do not wear out. I have never had even the most wily basenji slip out of one and escape. And he will custom-make them for you if you send your ribbon to him. We are lucky that so many good products are available, everyone is bound to find something to fit your needs.

http://www.woofandwag.com/servlet/the-1/Puppia-Dog-harness,/Detail I use a Puppia harness for Shelby. It's been a life saver since she does like to pull a bit. I can guide her much much easier. We don't leave home without it.

@Jarodkjv: Since someone is always home with the dogs a better choice may be the Playsafe collar, it is designed for daycare type settings. It won't open by itself but it has velcro tabs that can be pulled open easily even if the dogs are tangled up. The advantage would be that you could use it to hold them without worrying about it accidently opening. But it's not really designed to have a leash hooked to it so you would have to put a regular collar on them if you were going to take them out. That looks like a great alternative and I do think I'll give them a try. Although the dogs wear regular collars in the house, we always use martingales or sporn harnesses when we walk them. I found the website interesting and was fascinated by the dog cold weather gear. Don't need it here but it was still fascinating. Nick is very nice , he does this in his spare time , so if there is a delay in communication he is probably out on his hog . and will get back to you . the collars are excellent quality.
