Does anyone have any videos of these lovely tricks 🙂
I done one not long ago but I didn't like it and deleted it. But I do plan in making a new one in the following weeks 😃 ill share when I do
It sure seems so. My two red/whites were both typical Basenjis, but our new little Tri Bella sure seems to have an extra evil streak. She's got the sweetest disposition you could ever hope for, but it is punctuated by unexpected acts of getting into mischief.
Here she is laying down with my wife looking like the perfect angel. Next morning while my wife left her for 2 minutes to run to the bathroom, Bella managed to mangle a pair of my wife's reading glasses. Unfortunately they weren't a $10 Wal-mart set either.
There you go… another convert to "Evil" Tri's...gggg .... they are the bandits of mischief!!!!
Now you know why we say "Tris are trying"! My Nicky (tri) ate not one but 2 pairs of expensive glasses before I learned to put them in a kitchen cabinet at night. I am now a well trained human, pretty much. At 11, she will still steal my wallet out of my purse and demolish it, and any leather shoe I leave on the floor. She never touches anything of my husbands, of course. She isn't really Evil, but as Pat indicated, just full of mischief…at age 11! Maybe it's just girl tris, as my Eddie has never bothered anything, except little fluffy squeaky dogs at the park!
Bella is very cute, that is often all that keeps them from being murdered before their first birthday.
Yes….the only answer is yes....
Yes, yes and yes!
I often say "We call this color tri-ing in basenjis."
I don't know if they do. I've red ,blk and tri. My first B was a tri and she only had 1 bad incident. Pretty much a perfect dog for 17 years after that. My other 2 had their share of mischievous acts of damage. I'm getting a new tri in 3 weeks. I'll report in. (-:
yepppers. our first was a tri… she was so trying my parents almost gave her uP! although at 16 years old now, it's a empty threat to her

He'll be coming from Medfly Brigade in So Cal. He's a big male pup. I'm excited!
Do you know Karen Jones?
oooowww Well…. Maybe that's why we don't have a tri... hahaha
So not true... I want one from every colour so we can do the test

I think Lukuru Amisi (one of the dogs being voted on by the BCOA to be allowed into the Stud Book) is close to that colour you are talking about…love that colour (love that dog!!!)!!!! A very light red (or fawn) colour. So yes, it is still in Africa.

But I am pretty sure that Amisi is genetcially a pale red…not a cream. As far as I have read, nobody has seen a cream in Africa or the US in the recent past.

Yes, you are right…he is genetically a pale red.
Wait...I just re-read what I wrote originally and I said "I thought he was CLOSE to the colour...a very light red"...
So "actual" cream must not have any red in it...I'd LOVE to see that.
I believe someone else was talking about the cream also. The were wondering if it was a real colour or a genetic blunder. They also had some pics of some recent dogs in the cream colour. Now, if I could only remember where…..
There are no creams in the current basenji population. Amisi is a pale red. Avongara Siri of Brushy Run is a Blue Fawn but AKC would not allow that color designation when she was registered so she is registered as a cream though she is really a dilute red.
