Hi Everybody

We just got our first basenji last week. His name is Kenji and he is about 11 weeks old. He's a pretty friendly little guy and is taking to his new surroundings nicely. We're still a bit unhappy at night but fortunately he keeps his protests to about a half an hour. He likes to play a lot but is already testing the fence for weaknesses.

Thanks for all the comments and welcomes. We got this little guy from SkyHi in Northern Colorado. They are terrific folks who obviously care very much about this breed. We really can't say enough about how professional and knowledgeable they are. We waited for quite a while but it was certainly worth it.

Basenji puppies just look so smushy, don't they? Just adorable.
If you'd like to see what a basenji can do, Diggie and I will be doing agility in Castle Rock on Friday and Sat. Just ask around for the basenji person and someone will point you my way.

Welcome Ozymandias! Kenji is beyond adorable. We are getting our second basenji in a couple of weeks, she should be about the same age as Kenji then. She is a brindle, though, not red and white. We do want to name her Benji (Benji the Brindle Basenji), which is kinda funny.
