I have tin foil covering all my fabric furniture. It is the only thing that has worked to keep Seeka off the furniture and from chewing.

@roguecoyote - Everyone has different ideas, most breeders do not wean or place pups at that age... but it is what it is. IMO over the years in the breed, pups do better staying with their Mom and littermates in the home till at least 8 to 10wks and for me 10wks... just keep this in mind that they might have missed some socialization that would have happened if kept a while longer. So you need to understand that there could be issues that you need to work through with your pup. Sounds like you are doing all really well.

@roguecoyote - if interested in showing you need to find a mentor that shows and work with them. Doesn't sound like your breeder does show? So you need to work with someone that does if you are interested. You can go to akc.org and read about showing to give you some insight. And also other venues to work with your pup. Not sure where you are located, but another can evaluate your pup and advise if they think she is show quality. If not, that is fine, enjoy your pup and train her for other venues.

She certainly is a pampered princess. My mom is a vegan animal rights activist, and I live with her. She won't even let me keep rogue on a house line. It's presented some unique training challenges, but ultimately I feel like we're still getting off to a great start.

She's gorgeous!!Thank you! I only picked her because she insisted on climbing all over me when I was sitting on the floor at the breeders. Her stripes are a bit overcooked on her left side though. I'm hoping that they'll grow in more as she gets bigger. Its funny because on one side, her body is really stripey, and on the other side her face is really stripey. Its ok if it doesn't grow in though. I love her just how she is.
Aren't lure coursing and agility part of dog shows?
I keep watching you tube videos about dog shows, but they seem to be really focused on breed conformation. I feel like I'm not getting the big picture. I thought dog sports were part of dog shows.

Yes and no. All three endeavors will provide a unique opportunity to bond with your pup.
There is the typical dog show (like the big Westminster Kennel Dog Show that they air every year). The judges examine the dogs to see which one conforms most to the "breed standard", so it's like the swimsuit part of the Miss America pageant.
The Lure Coursing events are speed based. A huge field is set up so that a "rabbit" runs back and forth and the dogs chase the "rabbit". The "rabbit" is more like a white rag. The judges are looking to see which dog stays focused, on the hunt, and has the speed. Lure Coursing would be a good workout, but mostly for the dog. You could set up a practice area in your own yard, but... I think attaching a handkerchief to a little drone and creating a challenge with it flying relatively low to the ground might be just the ticket. It would take some practice and flying skill. You certainly don't want your dog catching the drone!
Agility events are the ones where the dogs run through the tubes, over the seesaw, etc. etc. That is going to require focus, ability, speed and accuracy. This one, I think, may be the one that requires the most work as I believe that the judges also grade on the owner/handlers ability to communicate with the dog. And you might find that agility may be the best way to exhaust your dog. As the saying goes, "A tired dog is a good dog." Expect it to be a good workout for yourself as well!
There are several other events that are available to enjoy with your pup. Talk to your breeder, many of these things shouldn't be attempted until the dog has physically matured (1+ years).

Charmer's dam is AKUBA N ELDORADO CANDY STRIPES, whos sire is ELDORADO N AKUABA THE LAST SAMURAI. (cool!) Her dam is AKUABA N ELDORADO BETCHA BY GOLLY WOW!
They are all champions.

@nancyss That's funny, because one of the things that struck me about the breed, the first time I saw one in person, (during my interview with the breeder) was that all the adult dogs had this adorable puppy quality about them that just melted my heart. I said it before, but I'm so lucky to have my rogue. What with them only going into heat usually once a year, and the small litter size, I had no idea how long I would have to wait. I have never felt so lucky.
