@zande Sure thing Zande.
I'll find a president picture as she's kinda chunked up a bit.
Me too. Missing our two long walks a day and our play sessions.
@elbrant Really it was a big bandage. Her right leg has a plate and six screws.
Also, she lost a toenail that may or may not grow back.
She finished the Gabapentin yesterday and seems fine.
Gabapentin is for nerve and chronic pain.
@zande Miss Bliiss's full name is
Blackwing's Cranberry Bliss.
Sire- Wasenshi's Courting Chaos
Dam- Blackwing's Waltzing Matilda (we call her Tilly)
The Black wing kennel is in Ontario.
@tanza Hi and thanks.
Am looking for exercises to prevent her muscles from atrophying.
Been massaging her, she loves it.
Therapeutic touch seems too intense. One swipe with intention and she pulls away. She's coming along but has another month of crate living.
Have been allowing her, on a leash, to walk around the back yard a little bit more each day and we've set up an x-pen on the back deck so she can sun herself in the afternoon.

Found this site while looking for homephysio ideas for Miss Bliss.
We are happy to have a place to share our experiences as we don't do Facebook etc.
We live in Canada and I will post pictures of my little missy when I figure out how.
Happy Easter from B and Bliss
Milk bones?
I know of a group of Basenjis that are totally allergic to them.
Miss Bliss will take one then spit it out so , no worries there.
For kibble she eats Purina Pro plan as recommended by the breeder.
When she first arrived I switched her(gradually) to Acana.
She became lethargic and her coat lost colour and sheen.
Was advised by a vet to get her off.
I did, and not gradually. Within a couple of weeks her energy was back and her coat was better. No more messing around with fancy food.
She gets her diet supplemented with raw meet and eggs.
Miss Bliss finds water falling from the sky abhorrent.
When forced out for the (pre-pandemic) walk before work and it was raining,
she was very quick about her business. Well, at least the pee part.
Sometimes that we enough for her before she'd turn around and head for home.
We are now in week four since she was hit and broke her right front leg.
She went four days in a row twice without pooping until we went to the vets.
Not constipated, just stubborn. She is becoming a very good patient.
T
he last two days she has done her business easily and quickly.
She is escorted out when she says it is time.
You all know what I'm saying.
Back to the ladies amateur golf.
Stay safe out there

Miss Bliss came to us two years ago at two years old.
Was informed she wouldn't I into heat until september or October.
She went into heat in April and then again in October.
Perhaps this is just an occasional happening for two year olds or maybe
it's global warming! In year three she had 1heat in the fall nd then was spayed.Four weeks ago she escaped, was hit and broke her leg.
5 more weeks of crate living for Miss Bliss.
