Not sure how far that is from Raleigh, but one of my whippet friends has a very nice boarding kennel in Raleigh and might know of some home care people. Her website is: http://tcanimalcare.com/
Can anyone attest to wholesale bully sticks / antlers??

These items are pretty costly buying per piece so often! Anyone have experience with the different websites that sell them wholesale? You can get them at $0.80 a piece if you buy in large bulk (100 for $80)!

I get mine from Best Bully Sticks http://www.bestbullysticks.com/
But still not cheap. I get the biggest they sell, they last much longer if you get the "giant size"
-
Wowza that is cheap! My vet's office used to sell the non cut up bully sticks. Unfortunately they stopped doing that. We would take them home and cut them ourselves on the chop saw. I can get them from my breeder for wholesale pricing too, but I am definately going to check this website out.

Those are awesome prices for the non-smelly ones. But they are out of stock on the nice thick ones. I will bookmark this site and keep an eye on when they get more in.

I have gotten both the odor free and the regular (and again I get the Jumbo size 12"). Really was surprised that the regular have very little odor.

Best Bully Sticks has frequent sales, as well. If you can deal with their spam, it's worth signing up for their mailing list so you get their discount codes.

argggg, they don't ship to Canada! I was so excited for the stellar price too!

Oh, I didn't get to that yet. That sucks!

LOL curlytails…... I do get their emails and really they are not as bad as many

I have used bullysticks.com and bullysticksonline, can't remember which had good prices on the 12 inch 'large' odor-less, buy 40 at a time for over $120, but the last time I went to the site they had increased in price. Thin ones don't last as long, and I ordered some once on ebay that were cheap but smelly! Glad to know about this site, thanks!
I like having a lot of bully's on hand, with 3 basenjis!
-
Thanks tanza! That was the site I had my eye on. Great deals and I'm glad to hear someone else has had good experiences with them!
-
How long would a 12" bully stick last the average Basenji? Mine would probably chew on it until it was completely gone and I would like to see how cost efficient they would be.

Like I said, I get the 12" Jumbo ones. They last quite a long time. That said, my two have them all the time, so it is not such a big deal to them. In the beginning, they would chew them till they were just about gone, but as time when on, now they do not. If I tired the smaller/thinner ones, gone immediately.

I get the super thick, braided 12 inch bullies. They last about 10-15 minutes. And I have 6 Bs.

I don't use the braided ones, they really are thin ones just braided together. If you get the 12" Jumbo ones, I think you will see a difference. Mine will go throught the braided ones in less than 1/2 hour

I just bought Oakley a 50pack of bully sticks from the website pat suggested. Oakley get "sticks" now and they have rawhide in them, he loves them but I notice they upset his stomach but it keeps him happy and busy for point two seconds. I bought him a bully stick once as I read here it's te suggested alternative to rawhide but of course it was smelly and expensive. I also notice he got possessive over it… At any rate I think this is better for health and his safety and will keep him occupied longer. I may just have to work with him on not getting overbearing. Thanks for this link guys, got me motivated!

Rawhide is not good for dogs. It can swell up in their stomachs and cause problems. Bully sticks are great as are the moo tubes. They may smell and be expensive but they will last way longer and are a lot better for your dog. I don't trust pig ears anymore either as there were cases reported of salmonella with them. I stick to the bully sticks, moo tubes and antlers now.

I absolutely agree with this !!
And tanza, thank you for the link. I have ordered a 100 pack of the 12". It says that the braided are 3 regular combined and shaped together. But, they only have 6" braided. I'm looking forward to trying the "standard" 12 ". Thank you for the link and recommendation.!

Bully sticks and those hollow stuffed bones (favorite is chicken) for this B. He had his first antler the other day and loved it, lasts a longg time too! Problem is that he had some blood in his stool the next morning and I think the antler was the cause of it.

I marked it. Have never fed them but need something since I have a hard time finding treats here that don't come from China that the guys like. I am waiting on a shipment of Salmon Ears (salmon skin dried ). http://www.salmonears.com/
