Hi to all,
Been lurking for a little while but didn't join… time to put that right.
My dog is Delta: 6 months old and a native of Democratic Republic of Congo where I am at the moment. She's not a pure Basenji, that's for sure; a little bigger and longer than a purebred (11.5kg), a slimmer head and more or less grown out of her wrinkles - but the eyes are there, the beautiful neck, the build, the stance, the tail. And the noises! She's a sandy red and white. Have had her since she was 7 weeks old (mum was already dead and she had only one littermate left...).
I will try and post a photo when I have the chance. From the photos I've already seen, there are some very handsome dogs on this site...

Might be a couple of days - pretty busy at the moment - but will make it a priority. She's not as classy-looking as some of the Bs on here but we like her…

Welcome to the forum All the dogs we have are classy, whether purebred, mix, or absolutely no basenji involved. Yours is too! Once a pup has taken your heart, she is as classy as any other dog, so we look forward to seeing phtos of your girl!

Welcome to the forum to you and Delta.will you be bringing her back to the UK? Whereabouts in the UK? I'm on the Welsh border but we have members from all over the country.
I'm looking forward to seeing her pictures (and don't let Delta hear you calling her 'not classy') - I'm sure she's delightful.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. Patty - I live in Edinburgh when I'm not working, which is most of the time. The plan is to bring her back to Belgium - no quarantine required - and from there I will be leaving on a trip with my other half - and Delta, of course. The long-term plan is to be able to bring her back to the UK, yes, but that won't be for a while.

So, I got photos :) Taken in the back bit of our office today.
Delta on the pallets, where she likes to sunbathe (if there's sun). She hasn't got a wrinkly face in this one, but she is showing off her "uneven ear position" a treat:

A nice head-shot - bringing out her pavement-special genes… There are moments when she looks a bit like a mini-ridgeback, too...
And it's a rubbish photo, but her tail is variably curly - this is one of its curlier positions:
as I said, we like her…

To be honest, I'm not sure that there are any. My boyfriend might have some, I'll have to ask him when he gets back from Kisangani…
In the photos it's impossible to see her lovely neck, though. I'll have to try harder for a profile shot. And maybe some running ones. And some sleeping ones. And, and... :D
