Hello Guys!
Occasionally a spammer finds its way into our forum without our immediate detection. Thank you to everyone who sends Alex and I emails alerting us to those ugly spammers so we can go after them and remove em from Basenji Forums.

Mine do not usually make such a mess. My boy will chew and unstuff some types of doggie beds and he is the one that opens the cabinets and drawers. The girls enjoy emptying the cabinets and drawers that the boy opens. Even if we didn't have the safety locks it is not an every day behavior, usually it is an "I'm bored", behavior.

EL D often will try and cover his poop when we go on walks but not in our own yard (though usually he'd rather poop on a walk than in the yard :)). Once he hides his droppings then he tries to run away as fast as he can - of course I still have to clean up after him so he always gives me this nasty look, like "leave it - hurry let's go before the cops come". 😃

awe, well hopefully next year will be his "breakout" year. #14 is still very good!!! 🙂 Yea Dallas!

But I'm boring them all with my b-stories.. so for sure they will remember something about them 😉

B's in Congo are wonderful, so I've been told by the 'african' colleague. He can tell very passionate about them.. It was really cool, he saw a pic of Tillo very briefly and said: aaaah.. a basenji…!!! And I was like....:eek:
He told me they are very free in Congo.. just doing their thing.. And they haven't got that tightly curled tail there as they have over here 😃 😉

Although my DH gets yearly "puppy lust", my personal rule is "I don't take any basenji under 2". By 2, their brains have developed and their attention span is longer than a nanaosecond (where you are concerned). They still have plenty of youthful energy but are not uncontrollable maniacs bent on destruction. That said, I confess I get puppy-lust myself, they are just so cute and funny and adorable. That is how they live to adulthood!

sorry, Luzern, was the City. I always mix them up.

My Granny did speak a little Schwizerdütsch but she was originally from Vienna and has learned it through the Years. She passed away more then 20 Years ago, but I still can remember the smell of Luzern and of special things around her.

Thanks for the advice everyone! Picking them up would have probably worked in this situation because the other dog was small, but i couldn't think that fast as it was happening! but carrying some kind of spray sounds like a good idea, i am going to look for that at the pet store. Thanks again!

Routine is definitely the way to go with mine anyway. Even on weekends EL D gets up about the same time, then wants his breakfast before he goes back to sleep 🙂
When I leave the house I always give EL D a treat-filled kong toy and once in awhile (on work days only) I will toss a few kibbles around the house for him to find. It keeps him occupied and he actually looks forward to my leaving :o because he knows he'll get treats.

Mick woofed for the first time last week. We had our front door open and he heard our neighbors outside talking. He stood up on the edge of the sofa and let out a grumble then 3 distinct WOOFS. 😃 We were like "what the heck was that?" Then we laughed our heads off. It was so cute. I wish he would do it again.

I'll second that.. being 5 ft myself, having a bunch of ppl who are sig. taller stand all about you can be very abrasive.

Ft. Funston is amazing! Some years back I visited a friend in San Francisco and we took her Husky there several times…doggie heaven! Worth a long drive to go there once in a while!
