Joey gave his first 'Baroooooo' today when I didn't give him as much attention as he wanted after I came home. I was surprised and thrilled! It was so fun to hear it since most of the time he is quiet unless growling when someone disturbs him while he is sleeping. Is there a difference between a baroo and a yodel? Once before when I didn't give him adequate attention, he batted my leg to let me know, Hey I'm down here waiting for more attention!

<<it is="" a="" very="" valuable="" asset="" to="" have="" dog="" that="" will="" crate="" when="" it="" necessary.="">> I totally agree. It is so important that they don't flip out should they need to be crated at the vet, hotel or kennel, or in an evacuation emergency. I can think of a hundred instances where crates are important.</it>

How true!!!!! I think we are going to wait awhile before we get a new couch. As for the rug, we did a little rearranging. :) I wouldn't trade him for the world, even if he can be destructive at times. Our Max is also a black and white basenji. I haven't seen to many others. I will have to post a picture. Everytime I try it says there is an error. Smiles, Emily

Sandy is cute as could be! I love her perky ears. Sorry to hear about the loss of your big fella. :( We lost our 2 1/2 year old baby lab to a blood clot following a surgery several months ago. After her loss we brought Kiana into our family & then we decided to KEEP little Mary also. Needless to say, we have put off fostering for a while. :p Here is a group shot of all our girls, Mia & Mary have the same Tweener ears! ;) [image: fallsiggy.jpg]

I started off crating Sahara when she was younger, when I first got her. The first week she was crated she found a way to get the thing opened, and I came home to lots of accidents on my carpet. But it wasn't her fault, so I cleaned up and added something to the crate to make it Basenji proof. She was crated until she was about 5-6 mos. old. I then got a doggie door, and made sure she was totally housebroken and let her stay out why I was gone. I keep her in the den/kitchen, and close the door to the rest of the house. She has been so good, nothing major yet(hope I'am not jinking myself, haha). Of course I make sure there is nothing she can get into while I am gone, I move things I think might be tempting, you know, Basenji proof your house. She is now almost 10mos. old and she loves not being crated, I put her in the crate the other day and she whined for the longest time. She needed a time out, she was being aggressive with my cat who is 17 yrs. old. I keep the crate in my guest room just in case I need it, time outs are good from time to time. So be patient with potty training and crating and things will improve, HONEST!!!!!!

Since reading a previous thread on the subject, I realize that Nala does yodel, but rarely to us. She will on occasion, but she mainly does the mournful yodeling when we leave her home and go out for walks without her.

My mother cut out that picture and brought it to me. He is a pretty one, isn't he? I'm partial to the black and whites.

What do you do if your dog has to go potty while on the plane?? My C3PO will get whiney if he has to go outside to relieve himself.

Jill… I know exactly what u mean they dig in and its no pudging... Sandie is so strong and her paws which i call hands grip like a vise... I was thinking soon as this puppy food is gone im switching to adult... she isnt picky as long as she has food she dont care what it is...I know shes a mix and a mix of what i dunno... but i hope she has stopped growing...Shes 6 months old now so my next trip is to have her spayed.. this worries me also... last female i had spayed gained weight...

Rocket does the same thing when I'm sick, he watches me all day and never leaves my side. Of course I'm in bed all day which is where every B prefers to be!!

Well this is a cute thread, I think all dogs will go out and roll in things, usually yucky things.:D I had my female for about 24 hrs, when she decided to roll on a dead thing. I took her inside ready to fight with her, and when we got in the bathroom, she jumped into the tub!:D Since then she is less reliable with geting in the tub, but does like to get in when I shower! ggg Carole
