awwwww shes so cute! shes just adorable!

That is hilarious! I nearly wet myself with the treat bag and Nike pulling on Mia's leash. She just sat there and the went to lay down. Thanks for the laughs. They are both beautiful, by the way…if I haven't said it before!

The picture of them lying next to the stove is hilarious! My Jamie lives by our gas logs during the winter!! Funny, funny dogs! Joel

@tanza: You will be surprised how well the crate buddies make it though puppyhood… but I would always get mine out of the crate before they started to chew...ggg And he is not really getting more teeth, just seems that way and those nasty fangs are the last to go... and yes, that is what people at work used to do to me.... I would tell them, just like caring for over grown rose bushes... Hahaha. When I said that to my coworker she responded with "well it looks like a rose bush attacked you!!!" :p I wouldn't trade it for anything though!

Sometimes I let EL D sit on my lap while I work on the computer but often he gets antsy and stands up and starts to try to climb onto the desk and snatch stuff. :) Just like in your picture

@youngandtired: I would agree that Mr. & Mrs. Basenji Boy are great for our Basenji rescues, we are so fortunate to have them. They go out of their way to help out these wonderful dogs. Thanks so much for what you do,:D :D :D :D youngandtired P.S. These rescues are beautiful, never heard of a purebreed blue-eyed Basenji!!! Beautiful! Thank You for the kind words, we just love these dogs. We don't have any small children or grandchildren, so we really don't mind doing what we can, they are so special to us. It's a Basenji world and we're all living in it!!!!:D

@weeziesmom: I have tried chew bones to curb his chewing however he tries to take weezies and they fight over them You can teach him to leave hers alone. Make them both sit for their chew; give hers first and make him stay with you when she dashes off to chew. {helps him see that she gets one/he gets one, and also gives her a head start!} Make sure he knows you have one for him also. He must sit and make eye contact with you before he is given his treat. Once they both have a chew, make them stay in different spots. Stand between them, moving your body silently to block his attempts to get to her. If necessary, tell him "no" or "leave it". It shouldn't take long for him to learn that he gets his and she gets hers. Eventually, he will just look when you hand her the treat and will sit and stare at your face until he gets his own, then he'll run to his own spot to chew his bone.

@weeziesmom: However I hope that the crate training is going well for you. With crate training I have had my good moments & bad. He will sometimes sit quietly in it, other times he will scream his little tail off! The worst is in the AM when I leave for work at 6:45 but my boyfriend is still trying to sleep for another hour or two. Dallas is having none of that! Once I get up & leave in the AM he screams so loud I can hear him getting into my car :eek: I'm sure his daddy doesn't appreciate it too much!

well it's 50/50…there are good moments when they are playing outside with toys and everything in hunky dory, and then like you said Pat WHAM, Mia or Nike (he might only be 8lbs but geez can he lunge lol) will just loos it. I hope it's getting to know you kind of loose it and it will get better, like tomorrow lol...Actually they are doing better than I expected. Just the sleep thing I doubt will ever get better because Mia gets Tazmaniany around us when we try to move her in her sleep.
